Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those who plan on applying to the CNL program at the Medical College of Georgia next year (Fall 2011).
Wow thats wonderful, hopefully all of us can be classmates if I get in.
Sharzaejones, I can't send messages for some reason, but my GPA is 3.4 and my prereq GPA is 3.7 (I majored in biology and minored in chemistry). My GRE score isn't great at all, I made a 950. 640 on the math and 310 on the verbal.
jnnorman, My name is Rupal. What is your name?
Do you both have facebook?
Sharzaejones, yeah they have everything except one of my reference (which will be turned in today). I also have to email them my essay and curriculum vitae which I am about to do in a bit. So everything should be turned in by the time I have my interview. Hopefully I will be notified later on that day! It would be super wonderful!
Okay. I had to email my essay to admissions because it didnt go through on the application. It took admissions a few days to update the "application status check" to say they received the essay. You're submitting the essay to admissions right? Oh, make sure you answer the correct essay question. When I applied the essay question on the application was wrong. The correct essay question asks why you want to pursue a career in nursing and how will your previous experiences enhance your ability to perform in a clinical nurse leader role. In January Ms. Mitchell sent out an email with the correct essay question. Hopefully they updated the application. You can find info about the Clinical Nurse Leader role by going to the aacn website. Knowing the role of the CNL will help you write your essay and you will be asked about it during the interview. The interview was EXACTLY 15 minutes. I hope this message helps and makes sense....im sending it from my phone and im at work.
Mine was 2 pages double spaced. Not sure how long it has to be. Make sure your grammar and everything is correct.
I hope this link works since I copied and pasted from my phone. The essay question should be near the bottom.
Yup, it worked. So my personal statement is 1 page long single spaced 9 font. I already written why I want to become a nurse (with my past experience). I just need to add in why my previous experiences will enhance my ability to perform in a clinical nurse leader (CNL) role. I will need to read through the role for CNL so I will know how to answer to their interview questions. Will they specifically ask me what is the role of a CNL. Or will they just ask me why I want to be a CNL? Thanks again :)

Thanks :) I am going to apply to all four but Augusta is my first choice since I live in Aiken. What campus are you both attending?
