Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those who plan on applying to the CNL program at the Medical College of Georgia next year (Fall 2011).
Hey everyone, so I called in today again and told them I still haven't received a letter and I have to know by tomorrow whether I got in or not so that way if I did get in, I can let the program I already got into know that I would like to withdraw since GHSU is my top choice. And she asked for my name and checked and said "let them know you will not be going there". So I'm guessing that means I'm def. in :) I just cant wait for the letter to come so that way I am 100% sure.
I think you got in. It takes admissions forever to process stuff. I kept calling until I got the official letter. I was anxious too. I would start on the immunizations now so you wont have to rush. We haven't gotten any additional info except for an email saying orientation is August 11th and 12th.
Yeah I actually got all my immunizations done today :) I also got my two step PPD test done two months ago but just incase if it isn't good since it was done two months ago, I got one done today so I'm going to go get it checked Thursday. Hopefully I don't have to do a two step PPD again. I also got my Professional Rescuers CPR certification done from American Red Cross 10 days ago. Hopefully I don't have anything else to do...
@sosola I am not sure which is more manageable between the MAT and GRE.I took the new GRE exam, waiting to get my actual results sometimes this month. I am not sure if I want to apply to the CNL program anymore though because it is a generalist degree not advance practice,in order words if you want to be a nurse practitioner or Nurse Anesthetist down the road, you have to get another MSN from scratch. Trying to make up my mind.
@ayti... i'm really excited you replied,, how was the Exam? and what did u use when preparing for the new Gre exams? was it helpfull? as for the generalist degree?? im really not sure about that.. cos i know a graduate from the programm, and she is already in school for her nurse practitioner programm.
so make up ur mind so we can be study buddies....lol..
Yes, @gamecockgurl is currently in the program. I am a current CNL student and this is our first semester. It has not been bad been bad so far. We heard the next semester is more intense. Currenlty we have class from 9-4 on Monday, no class on Tuesday, Clinicals from 645-330 on Wed, and lab on Thursday from 9-4...no class on Friday. We have 2 online classes and 2 classes in person. The first half of the semester we had lab on wed and thursday, we started clinicals the beginning of October so now we do clinicals on Thursday..hope this makes sense.....if you have any other questions just let me know...good luck!

So I called in today as well and she said I should be getting something positive in the mail soon. I'm hoping that means I got in? My online status still says "ready to be reviewed". Hopefully we will be getting the letter sometime next week.
