MCG/CNL Fall 2011 applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those who plan on applying to the CNL program at the Medical College of Georgia next year (Fall 2011).

I have to commute because my husband and I own our house and we can't sell it in this economy and we can't afford a second household. I know it'll be long, but it'll be worth it.

Okay. I understand that. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am getting my labs done for the immunizations this week. I got a certified copy of my birth certificate too.

I'm working on getting my labs for immunizations done, too. I'm also finishing some prereqs. Can't wait to have those done so I can relax a little over the summer! I'm just so nervous I'm going to forget to do something. Do you know when orientation is going to be? I'm just so excited and ready to start!

Yes, im nervous I will forget something too. On the campus selection sheet that was emailed to us with our interview date and time....says to be available august 11 and 12th for orientation and preimmersion. Im not sure if those dates are official though. I completed the prereqs last year. Now im just working.

I was just wondering if there was anything official yet. Look forward to meeting you at orientation!

Same to you! Have you done the CPR training yet?

I'm going tomorrow to Marietta to do my training. How about you?

My friend did hers somewhere in Decatur. Ill probably go there.

Hi! My name is Natalie Barber and i have been accepted into the fall 2011 cnl program. I stumbled across this and was wondering if anyone could give my any advice on living in augusta. I am currently in athens and don't know anything about augusta. I am excited to meet everyone and congrats on acceptance!

plb0812: I am considering commuting. I can move, but if i stayed in athens I would have a great friend for a roommate and my boyfriend is here too. I know it would be hard, but I'm starting to wonder if I would be happier having a place here on the weekends and being there during the week! I would be interested in carpooling if you were. Just let me know. You can email me or find me on facebook. Thanks!

Also if anyone has made a facebook page I would love to join!

@nbarber13- I live near Athens and was also accepted at the Augusta campus. I don't know anything about housing in Augusta. I plan on going to Augusta to find somewhere to live. I don't want to commute because that will be over 3 hours of commuting daily. I would rather use that time to study. I also spoke to some current CNL students who said clinicals start early in the morning. I dont want to have to get up at 4:30 in the morning just to make it to clinicals on time.

sharzaejones- I understand commuting would be tough and i haven't made my mind up, but hearing someone else consider it made me consider it too. Where do you live now? I think I'm gonna make a facebook group. Do you have facebook?
