MCC Clinicals

Published

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I was wondering if anyone knows about the clinicals for MCC. I'm mostly just wondering if they will only take place on the days that they have designated in the class schedule. I start block 1 in August and I'm planning on taking a trip in October. The trip is over the weekend, while classes are Monday-Thursday. I just want to make sure that it won't cause any conflict since I'm buying plane tickets that are non-refundable. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Don't know specifically about MCC, but I'm in CGCC Block 1 and ours can be any day. We are split into four clinical groups (four different locations) and the days vary... One group is Saturday/Sunday, one is Sunday/Monday and two are Monday/Tuesday. They did tell us that all the blocks would be like that and if we got weekend clinicals, we would need to arrange our personal schedules accordingly. Since it's all Maricopa Community college nursing program, I would think MCC would be similar.

Did you get to pick which group you were in or were you just assigned? When did you find out what days your clinicals were?

I WISH THEY GAVE US MORE INFORMATION AHEAD OF TIME!! It's killing my type-A personality.

We were assigned. They let a few people switch if they found someone who wanted to switch, but they told us that it would not be like that in any other block. No switching. We found out our clinical days and locations at orientation, but normally they don't say until classes begin, apparently.... and one of the clinicals days changed anyway from Monday/Tuesday to Sunday/Monday. I'm type A, too. Get ready,,, you're going to be very frustrated for a while! Lol!!

I can already tell it's going to be frustrating for me and my husband. We both like information ahead of time lol. Hopefully they give us a lot at orientation so I have a whole week to get anything else I need...

I think someone forgot to tell you that you have to put your life on hold while in nursing school. LOL!

Haha I'm well aware that I won't have a life, especially since I'm in the CEP.
