I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for those of us starting the program in August!
I was one of the special people that didn't do so well on the math test, and when we were in our little math meeting, I asked about our grades, and she made it seem like we we're all getting A's. There was nothing to grade us on, and she said our math test scores were "irrelevant." So, I wouldn't even worry about it. They dont have to have grades due till like, Christmas time, so they won't be there for a while.
It's going well. All my instructors are very nice and supportive, a welcome change from the tone of the seminar! Assignments are not overwhelming and the labs are very interesting. I am having a hard time deciding what I need to focus on in terms of studing, there is a lot of info dumped on us! Only 3 weeks til midterms! Yikes!
I would advise you to get some practice with vital signs, watch some Taylor videos, and start looking at assessment techniques. So far I love it and you will too! Oh and ENJOY the free time you have left!

:)Thanks Orna01! I'll take your advice! I have been enjoying the long summer!! Good luck in your classes and Midterms!!!
Hey guys, I was looking at my class schedule and it says that 1145 is going to be in UCP-UCI room 226...anyone know what building that is?
Hey MizzGizz,
I remember talking to you quite a while ago in here. I haven't really been on here too much since then. I see you got into the program. I told you that you would =) I just literally finished up my 1600 classes today, with our 1700 orientation starting in about 7 hours. My course numbers probably make no sense to you though, LoL. I hope you're doing well in school! 1600s were soooo hard compared to our first set of classes back in March, the 1500s. Sad to say that we found out that some of us didn't make it to the next set of classes with more casualties probably to come as our grades haven't even posted yet. We all had trouble with a certain professor's exams, and I heard that one of the new classes, maybe yours, also had difficulty with this same instructor, as in just about everyone failed the 1st exam. Any truth to that? Gosh I hope not but I guess I wouldn't be surprised with a new curriculm and a tough professor. Not sure if you're even on here anymore but good luck to you! Stop by and say hi if you're ever on here again =)
Hey Gaylord_Focker,
So far I love school, its just so time consuming and I never feel like I'm completely caught up. I had heard about some people in your group not passing on to the next set of classes. I think I know which instructor you are talking about and yeah, we had the same experience. Although she really gave us a break on our tests, throwing away a lot of the questions in the end. I just finished our first week of our 2nd 8 weeks and already I can tell it's going to be even more intense than the last 8 weeks. I'm looking forward to Christmas break already!! How are your classes going??
Hi Wendy -
Under the new curriculum, the program is 4 semesters long (there are no summer classes offered) so it is a 2 year program. Although, this does not include the prereqs that are needed to apply. The following classes are used to rank along with the HESI score - English, A&P, Patho or Micro and soon to be included in the ranking process is HHSC Intro to Nursing.

I've been checking too. I wonder if they will wait until the end of the semester to post them.
