Mayo Residency 2017

Published

Hello! I just submitted my application for the Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency starting July 2017. Just seeing if there is anyone out there that applied or has any tips on their interview process!

@brittani(:

That's so awesome! Congratulations! I am new to using this website, but have totally been reading a ton of old threads trying to figure out an anticipated timeline for when to expect anything. Out of curiosity- did your status change online and then you received a call?

Thank you! I've been doing the same thing. With the program starting in July, I was trying to figure out the timeline and what to expect since the applications were due earlier this month. Such a huge gap but I know its needed with how many people apply. My status online still says application in review and hasn't changed. Aggie1 mentioned above about receiving an email for unit preferences, something I haven't gotten yet either. So I'm sure everything is still processing through their system. :)

Aww congrats to all! I have not received a call yet and my application still says "application received" :(

I submitted an application as well. Graduating from LSU in New Orleans. Wondering what sort of experience you all listed. Preceptorships? Externships (I don't really know what that is), PCTs? EMS?

I applied to the critical care position. I haven't heard anything back at all. I'm still in the "received" status.

Mine also say recieved and no call. I know a few people that got the call for an interviews and their applications said review.

Yeah I still haven't heard back yet!!!

Specializes in Oncology.

My experience listed was all my clinical sites and working as a MA. I also included my volunteer work and special awards/achievements.

From what I understand, it is really hard to get critical care. I had a friend apply only to that and she has NICU experience and she didn't get a call either. I applied to both because I figured it would maybe increase my odds.

Hello, everyone! I just accepted a job offer at Mayo Clinic on the oncology unit =)

I plan to create a private facebook page for new grads. If you are interested in joining please send me a private message.

Good luck to everyone who turned in an application and interviewing.

Actually scratch that! Apparently, I can't receive or send private messages since I'm new to this site. So just reply to my messsage on here if you are interested in joining the Facebook group!

Was this through the new grad residency program?

I did 2 years of EMS on Critical Care Transport.

2 years of advanced PCT in an open heart CVICU

and 160 hours of preceptorship in the MICU at New Orleans L1 Trauma center. I'm hoping to at least get an interview.

Has anyone interviewed yet? If so, how did it go? (:
