Mayo New Grad program

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I applied for the Mayo clinic new grad program the first day the position was available (they had the position online from the 14-16 of this month). Does anyone knows when they start calling for interviews and more importantly what is their criteria for selecting the applicants? I know they probably look at the GPA but I wonder if BSN have more priority than ASN degrees. Any information will be appreciated.

This is puuuuuuuuuuuure torture :anbd: I feel like I'm walking on eggshells all day long and my nerves are getting the best of me. Hopefully we will get a good news phone call soon Tashacorinne :anpom:

hang in there ladies! I'm sure it could take a while to get a call. I got day shift (woah!) on 3East which is the ortho/uro/rehab floor. I'm really excited since allnurses has tons of posts under ortho about new grads doing really well in it. Best wishes to you both!

Nice, day shift :) I am very happy for you Katsie! If I get a good phone call, I might be sending you a message for advice on where to live in AZ. I will have no idea where to go and will only have 1.5 months to plan a move :\

Tasha, have you checked yet to see if your application status has changed at all within the last day or so? I wonder if that will change before or after we get our response......

Eh, it just says 'application in review'. I don't think the status will change until they send out notices/make phone calls.

...Still no phone call yet.... This waiting game is a little frying on my nerves. I'm kinda also waiting for Children's Hospital LA to either call for an interview or send me a rejection letter. The 11th is their last day of calls for interviews.

No phone call yet for me either  Neither have I received a rejection letter (not that I want one) nor a change in status on my application. This is unbelievably frustrating and I can't focus on anything else but my darn phone. I wonder how far they've gotten with regards to making phone calls and filling the positions??? I'd have to say though, I'm still happy I haven't gotten that dreaded email (fingers crossed). Without that email it means we've still got a chance :clpty:

Well, I guess 11.11.11 isn't a lucky day. I just got a rejection e-mail. This seriously sucks. I am sick of receiving rejections and it's taking a toll on me.

Katsie, enjoy your time at Mayo Clinic and may your nursing career be awesome!

Jackie, good luck to you!

I know how you feel. I just got my rejection email too :( How irritating this whole process is! I'm beginning to feel like I went to school and busted my butt for 5 years for nothing. As for the Mayo Clinic, the lady told me as well as a few others that they prefer to hire nurses who have done clinicals/preceptorships/internships there, so I knew I was immediately at a disadvantage. Anyhow, I guess now it's on to the next one for us, ugh. Good luck to you Tasha!

Yay, Katsie... You will be on my floor! :)

Congrats!!!

Hi Katsie RN,

I found out that you attended 2011 NAU accelerated nursing program. That is the one I am in too, and I am going to graduate this May. I got a call from Mayo Clinic Phoenix for interview for Medical-surgical Unit. If there is any chance, could u please give me some advice about the interview.

Thank you so much for your time.
