~~go nursing~~
Want to hear about my crazy night last night, everyone? So I got home from class at about 7:00 and I checked me email. I got an email from HR saying my faculty reference was missing from my application and I had until Friday at noon to get it to her! I KNOW my clinical instructor turned it in so I guess the link didn't work! I had to find someone who had my instructors phone number and call her to tell her the situation. Luckily she got it in that evening. But oh man! What a stressful evening! I'm sooo thankful Mayo gave me a chance to send that again! But this situation either made me look bad OR they really loved my application and they needed the final piece to be able to accept me. Haha!
Wow that is awesome. I am very surprised they went to the trouble. I would count that as a good sign because I would imagine they have many incomplete applications. I know this was different as it was not your fault but I would see it as a positive for sure.
Hi everyone,I am a nursing student at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and I have talked to someone who was an SIII last year. He said they go through your entire application (not just your GPA) and assign points to the different categories (GPA, health care experience, volunteer experience, involvement in school, essays, faculty recommendations...) However he did mention that GPA counts for a good amount, so the higher your GPA is, the more points you will get. Then at the end, they take the top 102 applicants with the highest points. There is really no preference for school, state, gender, or race...
I am so nervous right now. Crossing fingers!!! Good luck to you all
This is supper helpful. I am an officer in the nursing association and the treasurer of the Intercultural Association. I didn't think that stuff would come in handy but I did add it to my reusume and the essay about volunteering and community.
I wish there was a way to find out how many applicants there were this year.
Well I will probably get my letter last because of where I live so you I hope you guys post as soon as you know. I noticed they sent letters and then a few data after emails went out.In fact letters were postmarked last year on the 28th, which was the last friday of the month. Maybe they will be out on the 27th....but I sense we won't have much longer to wait. :)

I live pretty close to Minnesota so it shouldn't take too long to get here. I'll let you guys know whenever it comes :)
When I started nursing school, I was planning on applying to TONS of externships! But Ohio State is switching from quarters to semesters this summer, so our summer starts late and is really short. Basically, everything I was looking into didn't fit in my summer schedule. It's pretty lame...
Oh my goodness! 1 more week!! (hopefully!)

Has anyone heard anything from Mayo at all? Good, bad, or indifferent?
