Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread to learn more about others who are applying for the program. I've read posts from past cohorts and thought it would be a great way for us to meet each other. I can't wait to hear from you all! ?

So I can only go off of past years, but they take around 50-55 people, one for each sub speciality. I think the second round has 100 applicants in it. I'm not sure if it changed this year. Anyone else know anything?

I think you’re right. I know a few people that have gotten in the program in the past and most have said it’s mostly entirely based off of the essay. Second round is 100 applicants.

So like the first round is essay + resume and the second is just essay?

I'm not completely sure how it works, but from what I've been told the entire process is based heavily on the essay. I'm not sure how much weight the resume/transcripts have in the decision. I want to know how they decide who gets to go to what specialty.
Hi everyone
Nice to read others experiences with this application process.
In case anyone for future application cycles are interested in a sample timeline:
- Oct 26th applied
- Dec 17th received email that app was under review/being fwd to hiring manager.
- Feb 3rd received email that made it through initial screening process & asked for unofficial transcript & unit interest ranking form
- Feb 3rd submitted the requested documents to the placement office
- Feb 4th received confirmation email they received them
I am in an ABSN program changing careers. I've had my CNA constantly since 2004, worked with it full-time, part time, or PRN for the past 16 years, PRN since 2014 picking up on weekends as I have a full-time Mon-Fri job in another field.
Fingers crossed & good luck to everyone!

Hi, did you send both documents in the same email?
