Hi everyone! This thread was created to post updates concerning Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency beginning in February 2023. Feel free to post!

Seems like they would unless you flat out said you didn’t have interest. Because they asked me for ICU, just ICU or no other units will you consider and actually told me to pick my top 4 on the list they gave during the interview.
PCUs and Med-Surg are pretty similar considering the patient type and the nurse to patient ratios they have.
So I thing if your first preference had a close cousin they probably did it that way.

They have a homogeneous ICU so I did pick a specific discipline (cardiac, neuro, etc)

All they said to me was that they just started getting through everyone’s at my Zoom interview that I had 10/21 @ 5pm, “ Don’t be alarmed if you don’t hear from us for 2-3 weeks. “ They also said the cohort will be about 40.

gotcha OK this is helpful. the hospital I do my clinical/preceptorship at has like 1 PCU, but every med surg unit cares for high acuity patients anyways so I was unsure, but I may select a PCU as my #1.
