Mayo Clinic Externship Phoenix

Published

Hi,

I recently got a call for an interview at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Az. My interview is tomorrow, so I am looking for any last minute assistance with interview questions. Has anybody else interviewed with Mayo or does anybody have experience interviewing for an externship? I need all of the help I can get, thank you in advance.

I just got a voicemail from them. I was in clinical so I haven't called them back yet. Let me know if you do the interview! I wonder how competitive it is.

Hey guys! How did your interview go? I have mine in a couple weeks-- sounds like they are very busy and it's a pretty competitive program. Fingers crossed that we get in :D I know they said not to email the unit selection form, so did you just tell the interviewer what your placement ranking would be?

I don't have mine until the middle of march! I'm guessing I'll probably just email my placement form after the interview or tell them during the interview. Where are you guys from??

I have my interview tomorrow! I'm in Arizona and got a call at the same time you guys did. Is everyone from Arizona? They just told me to tell them my placement during the interview

I'm from South Dakota! How did your interview go?? I wonder how competetive this is compared to the Rochester one. Did they say when they'd let you know about if you got the position or not?

Oh wow! It was all behavior questions so I just gave them examples of situations and what I did. I'm not sure if it went well or not but I just gave it my best :) When I asked, she said that she has about 3 more weeks of interviews left so I would say it's pretty competitive. I didn't apply to the Rochester one but pretty sure that there are no interviews for that one - I heard they just go off your essays. Best of luck :)

Hi everybody! I'm glad this post is starting to become a little more active! I am very nervous about this position!! I feel like it will open so many doors for me! I love Mayo so much I did my clinical rotation there and I would LOVE to work there after graduation! I'm pretty sure we will all do well on our interviews! It's hard to prepare because there are so many questions they can ask!

Thanks for the information!! Do you know how many spots they have available?

Whew just had my interview this morning! The questions really make your brain strain because you want to make sure you're giving thorough answers and making sense and not just rambling on! I'm glad I got it over with and can't wait to hear in 3 weeks :D

I didn't ask about how many spots are available, but with 3 more weeks of interviewing sounds like they're going through a lot of people. Whether I got it or not, having the interview was a really good experience.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up! I have mine the 17th so I'll let you know how it goes!! Keep me posted on if you hear anything :)
