OK so I get a letter in the mail from my school. It says "your application for admission to the Fall 2006 articulated nursing program at CCBC has been reviewed by the Nursing Admissions Committee. Although you have not been admitted at this time you name has been placed on an alternate list.YOUR RANK ON THE ALTERNATE LIST is #8 due to your NLN(PN) score" ... now i know that this dosen't mean that i am in not even close, but who knows, I mean i am doing so well in school i never thought of myself as smart and i am getting A's in all my pre req's, just the thought that there could be a chance(maybe a chance in hell but still a chance) that i could get into the class this year and be closer to my dream of becoming a nurse is just wonderful to me, it gives me some hope and some much needed encouragement.
Has anyone else ever been on an alternate list, anyone ever been accepted that been on an alternate list?
Also id liek to say that this website is the best website ive ever been apart of, i dont knwo what id do without allnurses.com thanks

I have also been chosen as an alternate for the fall '06 class. However, my school will not release my exact standing in the line up of alternates (and there are 212 people on the alternate list!). I did find out that I am in the top 25%, and with "a pretty high standing" per the nursing admissions person. They also mentioned that in years past approx. 25-30 people (out of a 120 seat class) do not end up taking their seat. So maybe there is still hope!
Good luck to you!
Good Luck To Us Both!!!!!!

I've heard lots of people on here getting in from the alternate list, and #8 is a very good standing. I hope you both get to start this year.
