May 2011 NAU accelerated nursing program hopefuls!

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I'm finishing up some prerequisites and taking the HESI test on Tuesday for the January deadline. I'm a bit nervous! I wanted to see if there are any other accelerated program hopefuls applying for NAU this spring!?

Also, for the HESI, I heard that there is a&p, chem, bio, math, NO physics, but is there a grammar and a reading section?

Good luck to all in the application process!

This is why I hate having internet access on my phone. Ahhhhh...Montana, behind on EVERYthing, haha. Tuesday is the day for me apparently. Congrats on all who got in, and ab, shoot, my heart sunk when I read that :(

And to all who haven't heard...WHY is this weekend a federal holiday!?

Hi everyone! I'm in Phoenix and I just got my acceptance letter yesterday as well! I can't wait to start in May and meet everyone! Congrats!

Great news Zhongguolong and Mcardi!! See you in a few months!!

RunMT, I feel ya, I'm with you in the wait til Tuesday - HAD to be a holiday weekend, right???? :uhoh3: Arghh!! But seriously, CONGRATULATIONS to all who got in - what an amazing relief you all must feel! To Ab - my heart sunk as well when I read your post. Don't despair though, you can apply again next year. That's my plan if I don't get in this round! :)

RunMT - we just need to try to focus on other things for the next 48-72 hours... Yeah, good luck to us both on that! Here I am checking this thread every freakin' few hours!

Congratulations, mcardi9279 and zhongguolong! Now the hard thing is going to be waiting to get to meet all of you! I'm not actually in Flagstaff. My hubby and I have a house outside of Flag. I'm glad you're going to have an escape from the Phx summer heat, mcardi! University Heights is nice :) My bestie lives over there. What is everyone doing to celebrate?

Life, I'm glad we can share the pain. The wait is KILLING me! I'm visiting my man this weekend and my bday is tomorrow, so I'm good and distracted, which is great...although I'm constantly checking here on my phone and talking about school, which I think is getting old to the folks around me, hahaha. Tuesday will be a looooong afternoon at work!

And Congrats to all who have gotten in so far, how exciting! I assume everyone who has posted is accepting their offer?

RunMT, I know what you mean!!! And looks like we share one other thing in common too - we're both pisces! My bday is next Saturday so it'll either be a very happy, celebratory one or a happy, disappointed one...

Street, if I get in, I'm thinking about celebrating by taking a much needed vacation with the hubby for Spring break (knowing full well that the 12 month program ahead of me will be quite intense).

I made a 4.0 on my prereqs and a 96.8 on my HESI, but I have 3 courses IP which may hurt me... I'm hoping they'll see the 4.0 on all my other courses and think - hey - she'll probably do well on the last 3 as well... but one never knows... in any event, I'll keep thinking positively and hope I'll get to meet you guys in May! :)

Life, nice creds! If you don't get in, something is wrong with their scoring, haha. I have 2 major bio's IP, and I'm nervous about that too. If mail hasn't gotten to Tucson yet, then I wonder if I'll have to wait until wednesday...yuck. Am I the only out of stater on here? Let's hope they consider that :)

Streetflutter, I celebrated on Saturday night by opening a bottle of wine! My husband and I are going to Paris so we will continue my celebrations there! It will probably be my last chance for a carefree existence for a year once I start the nursing program.

Can't wait for the breezy Flagstaff summer. Streetflutter, you mentioned University Heights? Is that an apartment complex, close to campus?

Tuesday's almost here for those of you who don't live in Flag or Phx. Hope everyone hears good news!!

Woohoo! Just got home from a weekend away and got my acceptance letter! Congrats to everybody who made it, and I can't wait to meet you all in a few months.

And, Ab, I'm sorry you didn't get in. You have such a great attitude I was really looking forward to meeting you :)

Seeya all in Flag soon!

Congratulations, LindyLee! Great news!! Looking forward to meeting you in a few months. So much to do in the next few months, gonna be busy. Can't wait!!

Mcardi, University Heights is a neighborhood a little west and south of NAU. My family happens to have a little house there and that's where I'm going to be living while I'm in school. Was just wondering what others were doing for housing!!

Congrats again to everyone, yaaay!

Hey everyone. Got my letter today and thought I'd join the discussion. My wife and I still need to sit down and decide if this is something that we're really going to do - we'd be coming from Georgia - but I think we will.

Does anyone have any solid numbers for the program cost for non-residents? I'd just love to have the right info when we crunch the numbers, and I don't trust myself to get it right using the tuition & fees charts from the NAU website.

Would also appreciate any insights that you guys can offer about housing - good areas, areas to avoid, etc. We know it's going to be sticker shock coming from Georgia, but we knew that before I even applied.

Congrats to everyone else who was accepted - looks like we've got a frighteningly few weeks to go before it all starts!
