I'm looking into transferring my monitoring contract from Florida to California ( I already have a CA license). I'd like to know if Maximus would give me credit for the time I've already been in monitoring? Also, are all of their contracts 5 years or do they ever shorter contracts?

Hi there,
From what I have heard from folks in Diversion here in CA, the length of time typically defaults to 3 years, but ends up being a few months over 3 years, ultimately. Time is added if check ins are missed or for other things, but the default time is around 3 years. As far as "transferring," I am not sure about that. I know people "toll" their probation when they move from one state to another, and that the time starts over, usually, but that is probation. I would reach out to a NSG facilitator or Maximus for more information. Good luck!
What is a NSG facilitator? How do I get in contact with one?

What's common now in All States because of National Recovery Recommendations, alcohol is usually 3 years. Drugs is 5 years. I know, somebody from California is going to chime in and tell how they are in a 3 year contract for drugs but in the last 6 months, basically in all 50 states, if you get into trouble for drugs, you are getting 5 years.
