There is a little room for negotiating a starting wage. When I started as an inexperienced to dialysis nurse with many years of RN experience outside dialysis they offered roughly $38/hr, I countered with $42/hr and we settled on $40/hr which was my goal in the first place. Starting wages are likely to vary depending on the market but I have found that the starting wage in my area is competitive with other RN positions.

Well that does very much depend on location. In a lower cost of living area very few RN's are making over $50/hr. I have found that where I live the wages are about the same as the local hospitals so it's competitive to the area

At the very least $45 an hour considering all of your experience. No matter what area you are residing in....unless mortgages on a nice place is 150k and one bedroom apt in a decent area is $900 a month.

Just wondering if anyone here knows what a floor nurse maxes out at. I got hired at $40.50 (inexperienced to dialysis, 2 years hospital RN previously). I've seen how charge nurses and CMs are worked and not really interested in going that route 🙂
