Math 1301 UTA HARD?

I have math 1301 and my capstone left fro my RN to BSN . I had to drop 1302 last semester because I could not keep up. I haven't had algebra in 20 years. Has anyone taken this class and how hard is it?? Also, does anyone have the syllabus. I will be taking 1301 and capstone together starting in march. I am very worried as math is not easy for me. Any help appreciated!!

I took college algebra at my local community college because I felt like, after 20 years, there was no way I could do it in 8 short weeks. ANNNNDDD, I was right, I made an A but there is NO way, let me repeat NO WAY I could have even pulled off a C in a UTA algebra class. Guess I got my ego stroked because then I turned right around and took 1302 Statistics at UTA in an 8 week format. I made a C, but not without a lot of teeth gnashing, crying in frustration, and late nights. That was by far the most difficult class I have ever taken and do not care to EVER see a statistics problem ever again in my life. As an aside, I am in capstone right now, and there is no way I could have handled 1301 and capstone together, so good luck to you!

Breanne- I am starting 1301 in two days. Can you email me any feedback you may have for me? I am a huge math hater and super anxious about this class.

I am currently taking 1302 and I am going to drop it (for the 2nd time). It is absolutely imppssible to complete the work required while taking care of your family and working full time. For the last 2 weeks my life has been nothing but work and algebra, and I still don't know what I'm doing. I hired a tutor and spent 4 hours in the last 2 days with her at $35/hr. I need a 2nd job to pay a tutor! You don't get a chance to absorb and be comfortable with what you are learning because of the homework required and the instructor skips steps in the pen casts. She assumes we already are familiar with the content. Are we able to take 1301 in place of 1302? If so, I wish my advisor would have informed me of this.

I realize you took Math 1310 awhile ago, but how was it? I can't understand why I need to take it at all, took 2 Algebra classes, and elementary statistics class, and frankly, I barely made it through all of them!

I was so hoping I'd never have to take another math class again in my life!! :(

I realize you took Math 1310 awhile ago, but how was it? I can't understand why I need to take it at all, took 2 Algebra classes, and elementary statistics class, and frankly, I barely made it through all of them!

I was so hoping I'd never have to take another math class again in my life!! :(

I had them reevaluate my old transcripts this semester and they finally accepted my previous class. Get the full official description of the course you think you had was equivalent to 1301 and the school it was taken at and email the math department and ask them to evaluate it. That's what I did. Good luck!

I am currently enrolled in Math 1301 and am trying to buy the book, there are two options and $20.00 difference. Any recommendations?

I feel like everyone is saving this for last. I only have this and capstone left as well!

math 1301 was a total joke! I ended up taking 1302 contemporary math and did well!

I have math books available if anyone would like to buy them I have both 1301 and 1302
