Sounds like a basic math? Intro to algebra maybe?

At many schools, classes below the 100 (or 1,000, depending on how their catalog is arranged) level are developmental courses. Each school is different though. What is Math 99 at your school? Is it developmental math? If you've taken the higher required math pre-reqs, like college algebra and statistics, I'm not sure why you'd be pushed back into developmental math, if that's what the class is. I suggest speaking with the advisor at your school about the class and why you are being required to take it.

You are right it's pre algebra
If it's a required math pre-req, then unfortunately you'll have to take it. The only way you'd possibly be grandfathered in is if maybe you were already in the nursing program when that became a pre-req. In that case it'd be highly unlikely they'd make you go back and take it. But since you are still pre-nursing and doing pre-reqs, and that is now a required pre-req, you'll have to most likely take it.

This happened to me when I first started college. I tested into no lower level college courses. Then years later...after goofing off when I was serious about finishing college I was told I had to either take the math portion of our placement test and test into a higher level math which is math 136 for my school OR take like 4 lower math classes before I could take 136. When I asked why when I first started college I didnt have to they told me it had been X amount of years and that was no longer valid. I ended up taking one lower level math class to refresh on math and then tested right into math 136 which im in now and it sucks!!!!!! So.maybe your school has a policy like that? I was really frustrated when they told me that too last year! Good luck!

Any course below 100 is a developmental course. So my advice would be to study study study and clep it. Test out of it.
