Are you looking for online programs, hybrid, brick and mortar? Are you willing to move or are you wanting to stay local to where you currently live? Do you want a program that assigns preceptors to students? Or one that has you find your own? There is a difference between good in general and good fit for you personally based on your life and professional experiences and what you want/need out of a program.
I am glad you asked this question - there does not seem to be many psych NP programs out there. My local university does not offer it (USF in Tampa) and the only program I can find in Florida is at FAU and it is a post-graduate certificate if you are already an NP. I cannot move due to family issues so I guess I will have to do an on-line program. I have been searching and no program really stands out.
Hi, I am applying to PMHNP programs. I am interested in info on Wilkes, Frontier USA, & UKU. What are your GPA's? What is your work history? How long did it take after applying to get the acceptance letter? And any other pertinent info. Any info about any of these schools is greatly appreciated!
jgg765 I have found current students by searching facebook "(name of school) PMHNP" and then messaging one of the students in that group. I agree it is hard to go by the information that the school provides. Some schools are very thorough with answering questions and some don't know or give the wrong information. Two of the programs that I am looking into for fall are changing their psych np programs and that makes it more difficult when getting information from current students or from school faculty.
PMHNP programs are not as common, there are not as many providers and I don't they they are the cash-cow for schools that FNP programs are. Apparently Walden has decided there is a market, though. A fair warning: Walden's nursing programs are under investigation from the US Dept of Justice for misleading students and accrediting boards. Many schools that have gone under investigation this way end up going out of business, so be warned. In addition, just because a school is "easy" to get into does not mean you're doing yourself any favors, as it will be much more difficult to get a job as the market saturates if you have the black mark of a diploma mill on your resume.

Hello,
I have been searching the message board here and everywhere information seems to scarce on PMHNP programs (Physc NP) I found some info from 2014 however lots can change since then. I am looking to do the Masters not DNP. I am looking for feedback in terms of the good the bad etc. I have heard good info about the Eastern Kentucky University. Anyone I do not feel I can trust the college recruiters I need to speak to students are people who know students. Thanks!!!
