Hey all looking to talk to other prospective students who applied into the program for fall2014

i applied into into the evening program

gpa. 3.3

teas reading score 79%

hoping and praying for an acceptance letter ?

I think I will apply to Quincy after this semester because I am taking Chemistry now, and they won't let you apply until then, but they said you have until June to drop off everything! Thanks for the suggestion! I also applied to BCC, Brockton Hospital and UMASS Boston.

Yup! June is the deadline for fall 2014 so you can have all your application ready and once you complete your chemistry you can submit your application. Brockton hospital I heard is expensive but a good program I was thinking of applying as well. I didn't get into umass boston though

Hi Genny, when did you hear back from UMASS Boston? I received my letter last week saying that I was accepted into the application pool, I'm surprised you weren't! Did they tell you why? I think I might apply at Quincy in June. I received an acceptance letter from Brockton Hospital today, but I'm so unsure about their program because it's a certificate program and I don't know much about that. Do you know any of the details on how that works? If so could you private message me? Thanks :)

@uskurrrd I heard from them as early as January. I am not sure why they did not accept me, maybe my TEAS was not strong enough (I got a score of 80 which was in the 89th percentile for national). Perhaps my gpa was not as high I have a 3.2 overall and 3.67 science gpa. It sounds like a good thing that you were accepted in the applicant pool which means that you will be compared to a smaller selected group of people. I think they review applicants in levels, if that makes any sense. So you still have a good chance, just keep positive. Brockton is not a bad program from what I understand; I believe they offer an associates degree RN. The only thing about that program is it is really expensive, so you would have to make a decision if it is worth it depends on your career plan and goals. UMASS offers Bachelors RN degree and from what I heard, all major hospitals in Boston only hire RN with Bachelors they do not look at RN with associates, but that does not mean you will not find a job with an associates it will just be much harder.

HI Genny96- Did you take the entire TEAS test or just the Reading portion? Because I took the entire test and didn't school that high, jut in the reading and writing. Thank you :), I'm really hoping I get in! I'm surprised BHSON is as expensive as it is. I wasn't expecting that! My dream school is Massasoit, and then UMASS and BCC. Do you have all of your classes done for Massasoit? We still have such a long wait until we hear from Massasoit. The anticipation is killing me (lol).

@uskurrd, yes I took the entire TEAS exam. I scored 83.3 in both reading and writing and 77 in science and 80 in math. It sounds like you have a good chance if you are accepted into the applicant pool, just keep hoping and praying.:)

I took A&P1, nutrition, and chem at massasoit, I really like massasoit because they seem student friendly and he professors are really nice. The wait is killing me too we have approximately 2 months to wait until May!!!

Wow Genny96, those are awesome TEAS scores!!! They are missing out not accepting you!!! I keep hoping and praying, hopefully it works :) These two months are going to drag by. I'm just a little worried about Massasoit because I decided to take Chemistry this semester because I'm graduating in June and wanted to take this particular professors class before I graduate form Massasoit, which means I don't have Micro completed, so I hope I still have a chance, but only time will tell, right?

Hey MallyGirl, thanks! I believe umass was not ready for me ;-)

You still have a chance at massasoit even if you didn't take micro....I didn't take a&p2 and still applied. I know they go off a point system when reviewing applications.....and you even get a point for attending massasoit. It will all work out for us I have a good feeling :-)

They definitely aren't ready for you, Genny96! lol :) I'm glad you have a good feeling, that gives me hope! I wanted to tell you that a wife of a man in my class got into the program and she didn't have much done. He said that she's just taking A&P II now and she has been in the program for a year. He said that they wouldn't let her start the actual nursing courses until her prerequisites are done, but she is in the program. I don't understand how that worked out, but it sounds really good for us!

Hi All =) I applied to Massasoit also and am anxiously awaiting a reply. This wait is a killer! I have a previous bachelor degree with a 3.7 GPA and a 4.0 prerequisite GPA and I got an 86 on my teas reading. I love Massasoit and it's the only nursing school I applied to, so here's to hoping! Glad to hear from other potential Massasoit nursing students!

I forgot to mention that I applied to the day program. Good luck everyone :) May can't come fast enough!

Hey nicolep614 sounds like you have a great chance!!! Did you take all of the pre-reqs? I didn't take anatomy 2 and the sociology class I took they won't consider it...I took sociology of gender so thats 10 points I missed :( im praying that I get full 9 points for my essay if so I have 75% chance...like I told mallygirl I have a good feeling for all of us :-)
