hoping and praying for an acceptance letter ?

Ok on portal. Went to student, checked my current program fall 2014 and it stills says LA Transfer Science. ? so I guess i will just be an LPN until I get in somewhere else....congrats to all. Getting off forum before I throw my iphone across the room.

bebepickle, the LPN to RN may be different. Don't get discouraged. You've got this!!!

Nooooo bebepickle don't do that! Like MallyGirl said the bridge program may be different so just give it a little more time. Just patience and positive thinking :)

GUYS, CHECK your mail. GOT MY LETTER today!!! Tell the world :).

Got mine today too! Congrats to everyone!!!

RReese any news for you? No change on my portal, no letter. I find it terrible that LPN's have to wait to see who passes finals to see what spots are open. Those spots should already be open for LPN's. I don't want people to fail just so I can get in! That's terrible on Massasoits part!

For anyone who did not get in, no worries, I've been in your boat the last two years (already having a BA!) and have a few helpful hints... as most of you probably know, a BS in nursing is probably going to be a necessity in the near future or if you want to work in a specialized division of nursing (i.e. the OR, ICU, in town, etc.) I finished up all my prereqs last Fall and had no clue what to do with myself until May to wait to hear from Massasoit. So, I did some research into RN to BSN programs and they're requirements. As far as classes you can take without being enrolled in a program, most bridge programs require pharmacology, pathophysiology, statistics, chemistry, and nutrition. I only found Pharmacology to be offered at Quincy College and Curry - I just finished up Pharm at QC's Plymouth campus (besides being a completely unorganized professor and the school itself not being comparable in any way to Massasoit, it was a relatively easy class, doesn't require you to be a matriculating student, and cost $700). As for those of you considering QC, I was VERY disappointed with the school and their prices ($30,000 for the RN program. If you've done all your prereqs, the nursing course still cost $25,000!) The Milton campus of Curry College offers Pathophysiology... and stats, nutrition and chem are pretty much offered anywhere and will transfer over to a BSN program down the road.

Also, keep taking the TEAS until you get an A, someone said earlier they give preference to scores above 75%, NOT TRUE. It's a similar point system they use to calculate your grades from A&P 1/2, Micro, HG&D, Soc101, Psy101, ENL101/102, MTH101 etc..... but the TEAS is 10 pts for an A, 5 for a B & 3 for a C - that can really make all the difference. Plus the questions are the same. I bought a TEAS prep book and my score jumped from an 85 to a 93.

Another hidden gem is the fact that many of us working towards admission into the nursing program are really only one class (speech) away from an Associates in Science at Massasoit. If you can take that as a summer course and apply for graduation with an AS that will earn you an extra point on the rubric next year.

FYI, if you are currently taking one of the classes during the Spring semester that is tallied on their rubric, regardless of what you have or expect to have on your final grade, you WILL NOT receive points toward that class - it will show as an IP (in progress) on your rubric and no points earned . This happened to me last year with THREE classes and I was so confused as to why I did not get into the program having everything "done" and all A's, so try to take everything by the Fall/Winter semester for your application next year. Someone said earlier they had not taken Micro but heard that doesn't really matter - don't be fooled - EVERY point matters and Micro counts for 0-5 points so having it done definitely adds to your points rubric.

If it helps, I believe RCC has an evening program that starts in Fall AND Spring!

Also to MallyGirl, admissions was definitely not straightforward with you as my portal and DegreeWorks changed on April 24th to Nursing and I didn't receive my official letter until May. This was also the case for a friend of mine who got into the day program last Spring.

I hope all of this helps, I have been working towards this for quite a while and have met with admissions counselors many times regarding this program. If anyone has questions please feel free to message me back. I wish the best of luck to all of you who continue to work towards getting into a program and for all of you Fall Evening people wooooohooooo! We did it!!!!
