Hi everyone! This thread is for people applying to MGH Institute's Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEN) program for Fall 2023 start. Wanted to start this topic since I hadn't seen one yet. Good luck everyone!

I have heard some rumblings of disorganization, but I've heard that about UMass and even Yale. I know 2 people currently in the program and they have really enjoyed it and said nothing but positive things about the first year (professors, structure, and fellow students). I think some disorganization may come in the specialty years?

I have also heard this regarding pretty much all accelerated/direct-entry programs.

Hi everyone! I am about to submit my MGH application. I am hoping to apply to the adult-gerontology acute track. I have a couple of questions:
1. Has anyone heard of how those in this program gain experience while studying to obtain their NP? After the first year, are you able to work as an RN? I am a bit confused.
2. Are admissions rolling? Typically, does anyone know how long it takes to hear back?
Thanks for any help that you can provide!
Hi!
I have attended a couple info sessions and the question was asked about working as an RN after the first half of the program and the answer was yes, students do work part time as an RN, up to each student of course.
There is an admission info session tomorrow. (link below)
If you can't make it I can say any questions I have asked admissions they have gotten back to me quickly
Good Luck!

Thank you for the feedback! I will do that. my last question is, do you know the acceptance rate/how many students they typically accept? I would love to get into this program however I'm also trying to remain realistic too.
Based on my research it looks like about 50 percent acceptance.
My pre req GPA was about 3.2 - overall 3.4
Have about 6 months nursing assistant experience and have my EMT cert.
Happy to answer any questions! I've done a ton of research and would love to share!
I appreciate your help!! Thank you. I know admissions are rolling and I just submitted my app, so you typically know how long it takes to hear back?

Hey, I am also applying right now! It's nice to see someone else applying around this time. I know the deadline is march but will we hear back then or after 4-6 weeks? Also good luck!

Does anyone know what tuition cost would be for the 3 years total?
I had found it on the website at some point - can't seem to find it right now - they revamped the site but it was approx 141,000 plus fees
Thanks! So $141,000 for all three years?
