Maryville University vs. UMSL Nursing Programs

U.S.A. Missouri

Published

I have always known I wanted to do the accelerated program at UMSL, but recently I've had some misgivings about whether or not I'll make it through such a fast-paced program. I've been looking into Maryville's fast track program as well, and I was just wondering if anyone has attended either!

If anyone has attended either, what did you like about it? Dislike? Would the accelerated UMSL program be extremely difficult, even if I'm planning on quitting work? Is there a difference in how either school looks when I'm trying to get hired after graduation? Is there a difference in the NCLEX pass rate with either school? I'm really looking for pros and cons of each because I really just don't know which would be better.

I really appreciate any help you guys can give me!!! I'm having such a hard time deciding! :nailbiting:

I did Umsl accelerated while working full time and raising kids. I'm not gonna lie, the last semester was rough. But it was worth every minute. I loved my instructors and now make 3 times what I did as a PCT. I am headed back this fall for my FNP at Umsl as well. I would totally recommend the program.

What type of hours were you able to work full time? I am looking into the program at UMSL, and was curious if its possible to work some part time hours?

thanks

I can't believe I'm just now replying to this, but thanks for your input! I decided last summer to apply for the UMSL Accelerated program. I was accepted and will be starting this May, 2015!

Do you have any tips/advice for me? I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time.
