Hi all, I just got accepted for the ABSN program for Spring 2018! Can't wait!!! I'm from the Baltimore area but will probably get housing near the campus.

At the risk of sounding cliche, I sort of told my story. I didn't have the easiest undergrad experience and had some trying times so I spoke about that, and how it lead me to wanting to become a nurse. I've recently heard from multiple sources that selection committees really like to hear about a time or situation in which your values, morals, or beliefs were tested and how you responded to/overcame that situation. Or, telling the story of how you realized you wanted to be a nurse is a great and safe bet. If you can combine all of that, even better!

I was extremely stuck with the personal essay!! They don't give much guidance on the manner. I made mine as close to 500 words as I could. I spoke about what drove me into the healthcare field, any difficulties I had with school and what my career aspirations are.

Mine was closer to 1000 words but that's just because I had a lot that I wanted to say hahaha. Just go with your gut! Also I think starting a FB group is a great idea! I've searched for one but can't find one. I'm also really not sure how to start one!

Super late to the game here, but I was wondering if any of you who attended Marymount would be willing to give a rundown of how you like the program? Have recently been accepted to their Spring ABSN cohort for 2019 and of the 3 schools I applied to, it's the one I know the least about... I haven't found a thread for the Spring 2019 ABSN. I've asked a few questions to their admissions point of contact but haven't really been successful in getting answers to anything that's not listed on the website already. Just looking for a general idea of how people feel about the program.

I was accepted to Marymounts ABSN for Spring 2019 as well! Does anyone know if we have to obtain a copy of our medical record and provide it to Marymount? I believe this is one of their requirements, but I wasn't sure if it was referring to a physical exam instead. It says a copy of our medical examination record is needed. Also does anyone know what class scheduling is like for the summer sessions?
