UMB Scheduling

Hello all

I'm starting the University of Maryland Baltimore in the spring for the traditional nursing program. I just finished registering my schedule a couple of weeks ago and I know I have at least three days with class times. The nursing packet I received mentioned that I would get information about lab times before the start of classes, and now I'm also hearing that I will be having clinicals the first semester as well.

While I understand that it might not be the best idea, I'm attempting to create a schedule where I can work at least one day a week at my current job. So my question to all the UMB posters I've seen on here...what is the schedule really like? Do you have any free days or are they all busy? I'd rather find out sooner rather than later as I'd like to leave my current employer with two weeks notice if I need to.

Thanks!

Blue

They may have changed things from when I was in my first semester, but when I was there they split everyone into different groups. Each group had the labs at different times/days so there is no way to really figure out the set schedule until you know what group you are in.

and about the clinical, its only 2 days towards the end of the semester so its not that big of a deal.

Hope this helps a little.

Blueorchid,

What Blueeyes said about the groups is correct, except there are 4 clinical days now. Although it seems like you have a lot of free days it's not really the case. There is so much stuff to get done that it feels like you are flying by the seat of your pants. However, I worked and survived. In my opinion, you need to give yourself as much free time that you need to do well, which varies with different people. One day a week doesn't seem to bad, but it depends on what else you have going on in your life.

Send me a PM and I can give you some more specifics
