Hi all! I also recently received an acceptance to the MKE campus for summer 2020! Just wondering if anyone has started a FB group or anything to give those interested in attending this program a chance to connect about prep, living, etc? Excited to meet you all!

Hey, congrats on getting accepted! When did you apply and how long did it take to get your acceptance?

Thank you!!! I submitted my application in mid-October and heard back in mid-December.

Hello! Do you live on/off campus? Do you know if off campus housing is difficult to find/expensive? Does milwaukee have good public transportation or should we have a car? How spread out is the campus in case we have to walk to different buildings for classes? (I heard winters are brutal). Fingers crossed you get an acceptance soon!!!! ?

I actually grew up here in Milwaukee so I live at home. Off campus housing can be expensive depending on how far out you want to live, but it also depends on what you consider expensive. It can also be hard to find since many students stay over the summer. The public transportation is not the best but a lot of students use it. As for a car, it is nice to have one but if you can make a friend with a car that is fine too. Just depends on where you want to drive to, for example, the mall is about a 15 min drive from campus. Regarding the campus, I would say you could easily walk from one end of the campus to the other in maybe 15-20 minutes so it is not too spread out. I think the classes for this program are all held in maybe two or three buildings max and, if I am guessing correctly, these buildings are right next to each other. Our last winter was horrible, classes were cancelled for about three days but this winter has been great so far! Lol It has not snowed as much and it has not been as cold as usual. Any other questions? ?

Hi all! I just finished up a winter prereq and am waiting to hear back from the program. For those of you that have heard back, did you receive a notification through your email from your NursingCAS application?

Hey guys! Today I received my acceptance to the MKE campus for this summer! Anyone else get accepted?

Congratulations! I did too!

Has anyone received any information about scholarships?

Hi Guys,

I'm planning on Marquette, and look forward to meeting you guys in Milwaukee! My girlfriend and I have started putting the feelers out there for housing options. Based on our research we are considering pretty much anything east of the campus, within reasonable driving distance, also considering Washington Heights, Brewer Hill, and River West neighborhoods. Anyone have any opinions on Wauwatosa? Our two biggest requirements are a quiet neighborhood and easy access to a large park (the larger the park the better!). We're looking for one or two bedrooms and will need to find a place that will accept our 50 lb black lab. We are open to a communal housing situation if something presents itself and seems like it would be a good lifestyle match. You can see pics of both of us on Facebook (search: Facebook Steve Oak Sonoma County). Hope that you are all having a good weekend and looking forward to meeting in Milwaukee.

Steven

I got an email that had me login to the Marquette application page. It wasn’t through nursingCAS even though that’s where I applied through

Hello all!

Does anyone know when decisions would be made and when the start day in May would be! I am from a far distance and would need the time to relocate especially since my graduation is in the middle of May

From what I can tell online, decisions are made anytime between now and March. The Marquette Course Guide implies that the first day of our classes would be March 18th, but idk if that's accurate so don't quote me on it. I assume we would have a day or two for orientation before that as well!

Here's the link I used to look at the classes: https://checkmarq.mu.edu/psp/sa9prod/EMPLOYEE/SA/c/SA_LEARNER_SERVICES.CLASS_SEARCH.

Orientation is May 15th and classes start May 26th!
