I want to take the LPN route first as I just see it fitting my life at this point. I just want to know a little bit more about these centers I keep hearing about.
Do you have to have any pre req's for them?
How long is the LPN program?
If you went there, Do you have any advice?
cost of LPN program?
Is financial aid offered?
Hours of class?
Do they offer the LPN program at different center's or just one & if so which one?
Times of year the program is offered?
Any feedback from you all would be great as we all know getting info. from future, present or alumni students is SO much more helpful;)
Thanks for all of the kind words and info...I don't know what to do or to think anymore! The instructor that left...I know you can't name names...but can you tell me how recent that was? I just am curious to know if it was one that was one of my previous instructors from January...that might make a difference in my decisions. I don't think 88% pass rate is near as bad as it sounded...everyone tests differently, too. Test anxiety could have even been a cause. I appreciate your insight!
Well in regards to the 88% passage rate, I don't think that sounds too bad either, but it is something to be alarmed about since it is a drop from 98%. I must confess, the high rates was one of the things that caught my eye. However, I do believe that individual merit is to be accounted for and not soley on the school. If a professor was the issue, well I'm happy to hear that things are being corrected immediately. I personally have my CNA already so I do understand the expectations and the requirements thus far. I just hope that whatever issues that is being had, will be solved promptly as it sounds like.
I don't think 88% is so bad either because everyone does test differently. I think the State stepped in because they were in the high 90's. I am so stressed just thinking about it. After our math test I wanted to cry. Now we have to score 100% on the next two math tests! It's getting fun!! Today was our first day of Pharmacology and we did injections. Tomorrow we learn foley insertion and this is only week one! I started in January also - 2009. Were we together? Would you be in block B with me now? If so, we have the same three and two new ones. One came near the end of this last graduating class and a new one who I will meet tomorrow. I believe we are her first teaching experience. She is a new nurse practioner and will be teaching the hands-on portion.
Wow, injections and foleys in the first week...they aren't wasting any time! Yes, I started with you in January 2009. I had to take a LOA due to financial and health issues. I don't think I am going to come back to MSC though. I think we are going to get out of Phoenix for good within the year. Don't stress too much, just take things day to day :)
Sorry to hear that. Since we were together than I probably know who you are talking about. Not sure when you left but things are much, much better. Were you there for the big meeting with director? Things really changed after that. The rest, yes just like you said, "just take things day to day". That is very good advice. That's just about what any of can do. I hope whatever is going on with your life will certainly turn around for the better. Hang in there.

Thank you very much for your reply. I understand that you can't go into much detail. I'm currently out of the country so I can't go in person to speak to anyone. Hopefully by the time I'm going to school there these issues will be resolved and the responsiblity will be more on the person than the school themselves in regards to board passage rates.
