I have just been notified that I will be mandated to take the flu vaccine. NYS Health Dept. Regulation. Very few exceptions.
I have gone to many, many natural cure sites which have ideas on the way to counteract the h1n1 vaccine nasty effects. A few of these sites may be questionable but some ideas for self protection may be found if you look carefully as the sites are aware they are being monitored {potential CODEX LAWS!!:angryfire}. I so hate this mandate. I am looking forward to the Supreme Court response about the lawsuit submitted last week.

The h1n1 vaccine was never tested on humans. The FDA approved it because of political pressure that is why they are being sued.
The only mandatory vaccines for NYS are MMR. Most people have received these in infancy and are done with vaccines.
Healthcare personnel should not be forced but should be given the choice. It is a medical intevention and therefore requires voluntary consent. We should not get fired for refusing as patients dont get thrown out of the hospital for refusing medications. Some people do not believe in vaccines and that is their right. If you subscribe to alternative medicine or conventional medicine your views will differ. There are valid arguments on both sides so it's really a matter of what you believe.
I do not believe in vaccines. I believe in my immune system. I have been exposed to influenza though my patients but have never developed symptoms. CDC states that if you are healthy, and a young adult and the vaccine has been matched properly to the virulant stain of flu for the season you are protected 70% to 90%. I have been protected 100% by my immunes system alone, without the flu vaccine, in the 4 years I've been a nurse.
CDC states that if you're over 50y/o and have at least one chronic condition your protection after vaccination is 48%. That's because the vaccine only stimulates the humoral immune system, which makes antibodies, so this population makes the antibodies after immunization but they dont impart immunity. This is because the cell-mediated branch, which mounts an acute responce and destroys forein antigens, is weakened from age and chronic conditions in this population.
