I am a FNP attempting to obtain malpractice insurance and I am having some difficulty. over 8 years ago as an RN my license was place on probation for unprofessional conduct. I completed all requirements including a peer assistance program, treatment, counseling etc. I have been sober since that time and I am very active in my recovery. I went back to school and obtained my MSN and FNP certification. I have worked as an NP, but was covered under my physicians malpractice insurance. I am now trying to get my own policy. I have been rejected by one company due to board action. My question is there any insurance companies willing to take such a risk? All I want to do is work in my field. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Did you try the NSO?
I did and I am waiting on a response.

NSO and Proliability are my only suggestions.
I will add for others reading: never settle for malpractice coverage under a collaborating physician, it puts you at risk.
