Nurses Men

Published

Hello fellow nursing peeps,im seeking some advice in this whole career. Recently laid off i live in LosAngeles area. Got all day and nite available for school time, Recently registered for P.C.C. Just need some advice as to how to start these pre reqs get going and what not.

thanks in advance!

I would talk to an advisor at school. If you are going to start a nursing career, you might just as well go into a RN program. The CNA courses are only 5 - 8 weeks and that will get you into a HHA,LTCF or ALF. You can also work in hospitals as a CNA but you might want to look into Phlebotomy and Telemetry to go with your CNA license. I'm currently waiting to take my state boards here in FLorida.

Specializes in ER, ICU.

RN has a huge leg up on CNA for a career. CNAs work hard and do a great job. But, if you can manage the schooling, go for RN. Each school you would consider should be able to tell you what prereqs you need. Good luck.

Thanks peeps i start my pre reqs in june at pasadena city college. Kinda stoked bout it.

You may want to do an EMT or CNA course first, as you have time now to complete before July, then you could perhaps work part time for some experience. Good luck to you!!
