Ages of male nursing students?

Nursing Students Male Students

Published

Of the 23 other students comprising the group that I entered nursing school with, three of them are men. The class that is graduating at the end of next week I believe has 1 male student, and as far as I know the class immediately behind mine has 1 as well. This is about 60 students (some classes have had students drop), with 6 of them being males; that's only 1 in 10.

So we know that male nurses are few and far between, but how old are we?

The 1 student in the class graduating next week is 28.

The 1 student in the class that entered the semester after mine is at least 30 (a second career-er I believe).

Of the 4 in my class, 2 are about 45, 1 is 40, and then there is me...21.

How old are you guys? How old when you started school?

Just curious.

I am 30 and starting BA in Nursing next year, 2010. I'll be 31 then and will only graduate by the time I'm 34 or so .. I need all the best wishes guys!

I will be 33 when I start my ADN program. I already have a B.A. in youth ministry. I will be in my early 40's when I finish CRNA school... depending on how many years it takes to get accepted.

I'm 24. We started our class with 6 guys and and 43 girls. Ages on the guys ranged from 19-28. Now, there are 3 left I am the oldest guy. The others are 20 and 22.

20, start summer session school in about 3 weeks

I'm 55 and starting my prerequits this summer. I'll be 59 when I graduate(going part time at night)

I will graduate LPN in 2 months at 53. Start LPN to RN in the fall will graduate at 55

Does anyone know where to find statistics on the average ages of men vs women entering nursing.

I'm 36 btw.

There are six in my class at UND. I am the oldest at 40 this year, most are in their early 20's. This is my four degree and I started when I was 32 working and school at the same time.

I have 3 semesters left for my BSN and I am 46. The next closest to me is a lady that is 34. They call me pops in class and I am like a surrogate father to probably 7 of the 35 ladies in my class. Life is good!

40 and proud...lol

btw...42 upon graduation

37 here and just applied in Arizona. Will be 38 or 39 before the waitlist gets to my number! This will be a second career after many years of accounting! Can't wait for the change!

I don't know if this site will suffice, but you can give it a try.
