I start FCCA June 30. I haven't thought about a location for the CPNE. I live in Montclair NJ.

Yeah I'm so anxious to finish I did a dumb thing last night - I was all over the web checking out the CPNE. Bad move - it scared the hell out of me! But with a coupla cups of coffee after a sleepless night I came to the conclusion I'm not even going to THINK about the CPNE at this point and just concentrate on the task at hand, that's what got me to this point. And that's the FCCN. And hey, contrats on making it to this point with the end in sight! Think about how many people you have met since you started that just stop at some point. I can't tell you how many times I've heard " Oh yeah I 'm doing Excelsior too and have blah-blah left to finish but I donno I can't with blah-blah going on in my life" And you wonder if they will ever not have blah-blah going on. Thank God for my wife, patting me on the back after each exam, asking me what the next step is and saying "what's the plan?" She is the one who has kept me focused and moving on. So anyway - yeah lets get this done!

I passed LS3 on the 12th and spoke to an advisor about the next FCCA also.He recommended not taking the two together, but now I'm anxious to finish and I heard it is doable.

ahhhemmm.... 57 here and working on my RN through Excelsior.

Boy oh boy you sound just like me two years ago. After much soul seaching and research I decided on a nursing career as my last career. I was 55 when I enter nursing school and also came from an industry that had died a slow and painful death. School was difficult, but my reasoning was that it was only a year and after I could work as an LPN, get some experience and do a bridge to RN. At the time I was advised by many not to bother with an LPN and get into an RN program right away. Well it seems I did the right thing, becasue I found an LPN job, albeit not a great job, after a few months. It was tough to get but from what I hear getting that first RN job in this area is almost impossible. I agree with the previous poster, hard work - yes, high stress- check, oh and as a new grad, crappy pay- without a doubt. But if you enjoy working with people and like the idea of going home at the end of a shift and knowing you made a difference, maybe nursing is for you. I would strongly advise you to volunteer, for two reasons. First it will give you a feel for the environment and second for the contacts. I would not have found my job without my volunteer experince. Anything you can do to gain access and insight into the industry at this point is of value. Volunteer, talk to nurses, visit schools, try and shadow a nurse, read posts and blogs like this one, so by the time you decide to commit to nursing you will have a understaning of the indusry and realistic expectations. I know how difficult a decision this is, given my age it was especailly hard for me, but once I made it I didn't look back.Life for me now aint' easy, but one of the exciting things about nursing that keeps me grounded when I'm discouraged is that it is such a big world, there are so many possibites, always something new to learn, endless new experinces and challanges. I love what I do and am excited about my future. Good luck with your decision and I hope you have the support and encouragement that I did when I was at the point you are now.

I think I"m going to win this contest.... 55 when I graduated as an LPN. Although I was not the oldest in my class, she was 60!

Listen ....I walked out of the exam POSITIVE I failed, got the good popup - PASSED!!!! Does it work, I donno. BUT I PASSED!!!!!!!

I'm sorry but that doesn't mean the trick is 100% accurate. What about the people that got the good popup and didn't pass?

Oh GAD!!!! The wait is awful.

I'm all for staying positive but I really don't think the trick is reliable, best to wait for the quick results.I took the test yesterday and walked out saying I'm sure I failed. I got kicked out @ 85 and had AT LEAST 25 sata. But I did get the good popup! I'll be sure to post my results- good luck to all!

well jeez that's great - but again, has anyone heard from someone who got the GOOD POPUP and DID NOT PASS? That is the true test I think-no?

Can anyone tell me if they got the good popup and DID NOT pass?
