Male nurses

I was just wondering, since male nurses are becoming more visible in the work force, how do they seem to working out as far as being co workers. Also what do see for the future men in nursing? What improvements can we as nurses make to help our fellow nurses? I really want to be a good nurse, but lately some fellow male rns are trying to discourge me telling me being an older male rn w kids can really test you. I really dont understand some of the reasons why (seem sort of petty to me). Any input would be appreciated. thanks-

I've been fortunate to work with some wonderful nurses, of both male and female variety!

I know guys get tired of sexual preference questions and egghell walking around manipulative primadonas (coworkers and patients alike) looking for a sexual harassment suit. I know 2 who were submarined by b*tchy females recently in this way and unfairly IMO. Not all females are wunnerful human beings....

A male nurse has to keep his ears up for sure, but most of us lady nurses like ya just fine if you're a proficient, caring team player. :)

Maybe more guy nurses will drive our pay and benefits up----I wouldn't doubt that. Sad but true; in this 'man's world' female dominated professions command less compensation...
