Malcolm X College Nursing 2018

Have you applied? Have you heard anything? Do you have some helpful information to share?

Our real teacher came back this week, but we're all just as confused as ever...

I hope both our situations improve soon. I wonder if you have the same prof as I do? Lol

Hi everyone. I'm not in this group but plan to apply to the next fall term. This thread worries me! LOL!! I just need to save money and community college is the best route for me. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the typical hours for the nursing classes and clinicals? I'm trying to figure out if I can keep my job in the future....

Hi it usually depends on which route you go for nursing. I went the LPN route and now I am in the Rn bridge program. For the LPN it was offered in either morning or evening classes. I worked full-time and went to school in the evening had lecture, lab and clinical 3 diff days but you are able to group lecture and lab depending on schedule day. Clinicals start at 6 hours then 8, 10 and 12 hours. In the Rn bridge program now we have lecture, lab and clinical but next semester only lecture and clinical 12 hours. The days is uncertain as of yet but working and going to school is very possible. Best of luck in future :)

Hi alma! Thanks for your reply. Can I get in touch with you? I have some more questions about the LPN program as well. I don't have access to private messaging on here but you can email me: [email protected]

thanks.

You can pick days that work for you. Lecture is offered on diff days that works like any other courses, approx 4 hours. Skills lab is approx 3 hours, clinical is approx 6 hours. There are options, but not as many, seats are also limited.

I happen to schedule lecture and skills lab on the same day, so that worked for me. Clinicals are offered from 6:30AM to 12:30pm or 1:30 8:30PM. I chose mine to be at 6:30AM and on a Saturday.

Mine is for nursing 101, not the bridge program. I guess your clinical hours increase as you progress. You can make it work with a full-time job, but it will be tough, especially the second year. Some of my classmates are working full-time, some aren't.

Who did you write a letter to? (I'm in a similar situation)

Did anyone else see this? My instructor told us we didn't have to take an ATI test this semester, so now I'm pretty confused/concerned...

Castlebranch drama all over again, anyone just as frustrated? Do any of you guys get a clean slate on your account to reupload everything?

Does anyone know the "package code" for just the drug screen?

I emailed the nursing department and they weren't helpful, just told me to call CB customer service, which in turn told me that it was on the school administrator's end to help me. Soooooo...what do I do?!

I'm not looking forward to dealing with them again... I just looked at my CB account and it says MN60 as the MXC company code for the one we did over the summer.

Never mind, that's not the right code...

I just got word that MN60 is correct...sooooo...
