Malcolm X College City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing - Spring 2026

Published

Hello everyone! I wanted to start this thread for those of us applying to the Malcolm X College ADN Program for Spring 2026. This can be a place where we share updates on applications and requirements, ask questions, exchange information, and support each other along the way. I'm really looking forward to connecting with you all and going through this journey together. 🌷

Welcome on board, how far have you gone with your application. I applied for Fall 2025, but couldn't make it because I passed my TEAS late. I am good to go now.

Hi! I applied during the last cycle as well and didn't complete my TEAS or obtain my CNA license until 2–3 weeks before the closing date. I retook the TEAS for peace of mind with a higher score, and everything was marked complete except for the medical documents and background check. Have they started working on those in your account yet?

We are on the same level, nothing significant has been done. My background check and medical submission still show incomplete. I believe we are good to go.

Hello!

I have also applied for Spring 2026. They already updated my background check as completed so I'm just waiting for them to update my medical documents as well. I hope we can all help each other and get into the program!

Hi! I'm glad to hear things are moving. I'm hopeful they will review mine soon as well. Wishing the best for all of us as we work toward getting into the program!

I'm sure they will. It took them time to do so on mine because they said it would take 2-3 weeks to get it updated.

I submitted my application on the first day, so it has been a little over three weeks now. I plan to send a follow-up email if I don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks. I was told there were over 300 applications submitted on the first day alone 😲

I finished submitting all documents by sep 4th, which is 10 days after the application window opened. I don't think all 300 applicants finished submitting all documents on first day so I don't think I was too late. As of today, everything says completed except Medical documents and Background check. I don't know why it's taking them this long to update the statuses. Any opinion? I hope we all get accepted this batch.

We are in the same situation. Eagerly waiting on them. We will get it.

Hi, welcome to the thread! I called to follow up last week because I received a notification saying that both my background check and medical documents were missing. However, they were already uploaded and ready for review on CastleBranch. Since CastleBranch is a separate system from Malcolm X and doesn't automatically update the school's portal.

I was told that there's only one person manually reviewing documents and nothing I can do to speed up the process. They also mentioned that they have until November 17 to review and verify everything, so hopefully it will all be updated before then. I'm staying positive and trusting that everything will fall into place for all of us!

I got the same message too. I immediately contacted the school. I was told it was a system generated message. I got Director Denial in Fall cohort because I passed my TEAS late. Since you have passed your TEAS, nothing can stop you. Let's keep the hope alive.
