Hello!
I wanted to create this group for those who are planning on applying for the MX nursing program. Just curious on people's thoughts on applying to the RN program

I believe the application cycle begins August 24th. Would love to get in contact with other applicants! Have you taken the TEAS already? Do you still have a prereq to complete? Lets all chat!

I don't think they let you post emails or names. In the nursing packet it's on page 3 under #9. It's the nursing committee email. I think priority was given to those who applied earlier and all spots were taken. When I emailed them she wasn't specific except to say that all spots were filled. When did you finish your application?

Priority was not given to those who applied early. I applied the day application opened. Had an almost perfect TEAS score, 4.0 GPA and I was not offered

That's so interesting. Did you happen to reach out to ask what it may have been for you? It seems a lot of people with great stats didn't get in and I thought it was purely date based.

I don't think so...I also finished my medicals and background check in September. I have not gotten a response from them yet

I also applied very early, got everything done September. had a very high TEAS score and a 4.00 GPA still denied admission.  I guess they just picked randomly

Why make people work or study very hard for them to pick randomly

This is the first time I've seen this in the allnurses groups for MX, in previous years it looks like a majority of the people got in that were on the forum and it didn't seem as random. I could be wrong but it's definitely disappointing.

I believe the Director should reach out to all applicants who were denied in order to explain the reasons behind their decisions. It can't possibly be based solely on TEAS scores and GPA. If the process involved random selection, that would be completely unreasonable. Applicants deserve clear, transparent feedback about their denial, especially when so much is at stake.

If anyone emails them or hears from them and they confirm that it was a random selection please update here. So sorry to everyone who didn't get in. Congrats to those who did!

I'm in the same boat; except I applied later. I emailed the nursing admissions and got an automated response back. While I respect their decision and know that everyone that got in is deserving and qualified, it would be nice to know what those of us that were denied can improve. As we all know this process took a lot of time and money, not knowing what to do for next time is a bit discouraging. I've enjoyed Malcolm X so far, but it is so difficult to get any sort of questions answered from any department really LOL.

has anyone received their welcome letter yet ?
