Hello!
I wanted to create this group for those who are planning on applying for the MX nursing program. Just curious on people's thoughts on applying to the RN program

I believe the application cycle begins August 24th. Would love to get in contact with other applicants! Have you taken the TEAS already? Do you still have a prereq to complete? Lets all chat!

has anyone received their welcome letter yet ?

I haven't yet, my advisor spoke with the department  and they told her they would be sent by today or the latest Monday.

Anyone in the ADN program register for classes yet?

Happy holidays to all!!

Do you guys know if we have to wear uniform for orientation or dress casual?

Happy holidays!
I was also wondering the same thing. I'm guessing casual clothes will be fine. I was thinking of reaching out and asking about it.

Also, have you been able to purchase books? The link has not been working for me

I saw the books on the ccc bookstore website. I'm actually having issues with the website where we order our scrubs from LOL. When I first got the email, I was able to log in and see the section with our scrubs, lab coat, and other things required, but the only course I see is the medical coding course.

Yes, I only got the access code and uniform from CCC website. I got the books from Amazon, they were cheaper and have the access code included for online access.

Check your student emails! For the two presentations next week, they want us to wear our entire nursing uniform attire or professional attire if not available.

If you still need to get your scrub uniform and lab coat, Working Class Uniforms on Cicero and 95th in Oak Lawn has the CCCSON approved scrubs and patches. Got mine done today and it's pretty affordable compared to online. Only takes them a few minutes to put the patch on too so it's quick.

Yeah, they should have made that clear in the email weeks ago when it gave us the orientation dates. Also the Suitestyles website does NOT have shipping time estimates which is pretty ridiculous. Still waiting, about to call them soon. Glad we can do professional attire at least. I wish we could just get the patches from the campus and go to our own scrub provider, as a person with a unique size their selection is very limited and some even out of stock/back ordered. Plus I like to try my stuff on first as brands are not universal. I'm glad I got accepted (even that process was odd and I was unaware for days as their was no notification about a button in the portal ,what if I didn't click it by the deadline? which was the day I saw it), overall there were and are so many unknowns that should have been addressed in the near useless nursing information session or on the website. don't even get my started on the selective application and Castlebranch LOL. Rush was not like this, you knew everything you needed to know without having to constantly inquire and wait. It was laid on online and in 1 virtual session. And no one answers the phone, very rarely email nor in a reasonable time frame given that we have deadlines, and never on that Zoom for the different departments, and this is multiple departments, from the business office, financial aid, advising, nursing, etc. I also got a partial grant but they cant figure out how to apply it or who deals with it. Shiny new campus is hampered by poor service akin to the DMV. Are they there for paychecks or to service and foster an environment of growth and training for students?  I also I have a long list of concerns I plan on submitting to them, it was a discouraging process to say the least. Just hope they don't go after me LOL but hey its worth it if saves folks trouble in the future. We should be focused on the academics not the bureaucracy, though I guess thats what we're about to encounter in this field soon anyways right.....sigh. Good luck ya'll! See some of you soon.

Do PN students also have to wear their scrubs I never received an email saying anything for orientation

Hello. I'm near certain the requirement of scrubs or professional attire is a for both PN and RN students as I received the attached email a couple days ago.
