Members are discussing issues with enrolling in specific nursing courses, particularly N151, due to seats being closed and unavailable for registration. Some members are experiencing frustration with the enrollment process, while others are speculating about additional class options being added in the future. There is also confusion about the registration process and whether permission codes are required for enrollment.
Hi everyone!
I'm applying to the ADN program at Malcolm X College for Fall 2025, and I thought it would be helpful to start a thread to connect with other students who are applying as well. I'm currently working on completing my medical requirements through CastleBranch and preparing to take the ATI TEAS exam soon. I'd love to hear where everyone else is in the process and if you have any tips or advice to share. I've also been wondering what factors really help candidates stand out during the admissions process. For example, does having healthcare experience—like working as a CNA or medical assistant—make a big difference in how applications are evaluated? Or, does being bilingual help strengthen your application and increase your chances of getting in?
If you've already applied or been accepted in the past, it would be great to hear what you think helped your application stand out. For those of you who are still working on your requirements, feel free to share what you've completed so far and how you're preparing for the TEAS exam.
Let's use this thread to support each other and share insights as we work through the application process. I'm excited to hear from everyone and hope we can all navigate this journey together. Good luck to all future nurses applying for Fall 2025!
Ms.Fine said:No problem. I went there today. The patches are actually $3/each and if you decide to buy scrubs from them you'll get a student discount of 10%
You just need to show that you're a student at the school to be able to get the patches & discount. So have your student ID or something with your name on it from the school.
Sorry! I might have missed this. Where did you get the patches/uniforms?
Hi does anyone know if all the books
1. Fundamentals of Nursing: The Art and Science of Person-Centered Care, 10th Edition
2. Study Guide for Fundamentals of Nursing: The Art and Science of Person-Centered Care, 10th Edition
3. Lippincott CoursePoint+ for Taylor: Fundamentals of Nursing, 10th Edition
4. Nursing Diagnosis Handbook: An Evidence-Based Guide to Planning Care, 13th Edition
5. Clinical Nursing Skills and Techniques, 10th Edition
require access codes, because if not I would like to buy my books somewhere else cheaper but I can't if it has a code. Please and thank you
Hi everyone
I'm planning to apply to the ADN program at Malcolm X College and was wondering if anyone could share how much the program actually costs — including tuition, fees, books, uniforms, test costs, and any other expenses you've encountered.
I'm in-district and trying to budget properly, but I've been getting different figures and haven't been able to get a solid answer from the school yet.
Guys... am I the only one who is a little anxious about the number of books and access codes we have? Are we really going to finish all these books in one semester?! While doing ATI work? We also only have one lecture day... I'm really grateful to be accepted and don't want to sound like I'm ungrateful but damn LOL. We may be in for a rough ride.
