Taking the CNA exam soon. The problem im having with the occupied bed is the linen touching the floor. How do you prevent this? i practiced where i took the class today and i keep getting the linen touching the floor even when i try to make both sides equal. i have no idea if the sheets were just extra big for the bed or what. Im guessing on the state exam if you tell them "it shouldnt touch the floor" and tell them that u would get another sheet u can start over right?

Try raising the bed to a higher level. Just a thought.

Which part of the linen? None of mine has ever touched the floor. It shouldn't if your bed is high enough. NEVER make a bed unless it's at a safe height, you risk hurting your back.

My instructor told us that with that skill being tested we had 10 minutes to show we could do it. She also said it didn't have to be perfect. She said what the examiners are mostly looing for is that you can properly do it.
Thanks everyone. I passed my state test :)

Just learned this the other night and the only think I can think of is bed height as was mentioned by another poster. Our instructors told us to raise the bed to its highest height. Is this part of your procedure? Good luck! I'll be in your shoes in a few months!
