Mailed My Nursing School Application On Friday...

I took my HESI A2 exam on Friday and scored an overall 89.67% (Reading and Comp., Math, A&P, Biology, Grammer, and Vocab. was on my HESI). The community college that I attend gives extra "points" if you score at least a 80% or higher on A&P (I scored a 84%), a 80% or higher overall, and 80% or higher on both.

I currently have a 4.0 GPA and my school gives extra points if a student completes all of their co-req. courses before applying to the nursing program (which is for an associates degree). I have completed all of the required co-req. and pre-req. courses.

I mailed my application on Friday, so the waiting game is on! There is only one school in my area that offers an associates degree in nursing (the other one is 2 hours away), so I don't have any other schools that I can apply to. Do you think I have a good chance at getting accepted? The deadline for the application is June 10 for the Fall 2013 semester and it can take up to 6 weeks after to find out who made the cut. This school is very competitive, so I hope my HESI score was high enough.

Who else is playing the waiting game right now?

I applied the end of January and did not receive my letter until April 19th! There were other students in my school that started receiving acceptance letters in February. I had convinced myself that they send out all of the acceptance letters first, then send out the rejections, which was not the case. You have a really awesome GPA and grades. I'm applying June 1st for spring 2014 semester....won't know until October if I got In or not. That'll be a long waiting game!

I applied the end of January and did not receive my letter until April 19th! There were other students in my school that started receiving acceptance letters in February. I had convinced myself that they send out all of the acceptance letters first, then send out the rejections, which was not the case. You have a really awesome GPA and grades. Try not to over think it, I'm sure you will be accepted. Good Luck!!!

Did your school say when to expect letters to go out? How much longer do you have to wait? Hoping you get that wonderful acceptance letter :D :D :D

Thank you SopranoKris! I hope I get a wonderful acceptance letter too! The school said up to 6 weeks after the deadline (which is June 10). So maybe mid to late July ???? I hope they send letters out before then.

The wait is horrible...I am down to about 17 days before I should get my letter and I have only been waiting since May 15th but I am going crazy LOL!!

you must be applying to Northeast State, I don't think you will have a problem getting in with a 4.0 I was told that they receive gpa's from 2.75 to 4.0. I'm applying there also with a 3.49 and 88% comp on hesi with 96 in a&p and 84 in bio, I still haven't taken micro or my humanities elective either I still feel I have a fair chance though considering they take in 80 students. Do you have any details on the ranking system there? I didn't find the nursing info session very informative on the ranking.

Hi emtbake. Yeah I am applying to Northeast State's nursing school. It's so good to see a fellow Northeast State student on here! Congrats on your good grades and HESI score. Good luck applying too! I haven't really heard anything on the ranking system. It's been about 2 years since I went to the nursing info. session, so I really don't remember what and if they said anything about the ranking. I think you have a very very very good chance and getting in and I wish you the best of luck! :)

I just mailed my nursing application too! I don't find out till October for spring 2014. The lowest gpa to get accepted each semester always fluctuates so I'm praying mine will be good enough! I worked so hard, busted my butt to retake classes. I had a 1.93 at my CC and brought it up to a 3.40 and now have a 3.47 cumulative
