Made the same score on the retake of the teas!

Published

I took the teas a few weeks ago and scored a 74.7. I also took it this past friday and scored the exact same score! I was very discouraged because I thought I'd at least score a little higher. I did bad in science my first go-round so that's pretty much all I studied and I boosted my science score from a 50% to a 64.6% but for some reason my math and reading scores went a little down.

Here's a breakdown of my first time taking the test:

Reading- 90.5% and 98th percentile

Math----- 90% and 97th percentile

Science-- 50% and 75th percentile

English--- 73.3% and 90th percentile

Now for the second time taking the test:

Reading-88.1% and 97th percentile

Math---- 73.3% and 78th percentile

Science- 64.6% and 93rd percentile

English-- 73.3% and 90th percentile

I think the problem is that I knew I had studied science so hard so I rushed through everything too quickly the second time. My question is..which one should I turn in with my application? Or does it really matter? For the program I'm applying to admission is just based on the top 30 teas scores. I'm applying to the lvn program at Blinn in Bryan and I'm in the 93rd percentile for the program so I feel like I have a pretty good chance of getting in.

I would send them the first scores since your math & reading scores went down.

Specializes in NICU, Trauma, Oncology.

I think you have to send both.

I'm pretty sure we just have to send our highest score but since my scores were the same I didn't know which one to send. Thank you both!!

Specializes in PCT, RN.

I'd probably do the second.

Since Nursing is a science major, they'll probably be most interested in your higher science score than your higher reading/math scores.

If you only have to send one, flip a coin. Lol.

Which scores did you end up sending?

I ended up sending the first one! This program only concentrates on the top 30 teas scores and nothing else so I figured it didn't matter much. The first one looked a little better in terms of percentiles to me so I just turned in the first one. I'll know if I got accepted in a few weeks!

Did you apply to the Brenham campus as well? I applied to both and I received my letter from Brenham today.

I actually only applied to the one in Bryan. I was going to apply to Brenham too but I really did not want to commute everyday. I got lucky though because I received my acceptance letter to Bryan on the 14th! I'm so excited!

Did you do your FAST pass thing and if so how much did it cost you?
