Hello everyone!!! Just submitted my application, have taken my HESI, all prerequisites are finished, now the waiting game begins. I was looking for people who were also on this journey.

Thanks for your reply, yes they sent me a letter for a MANDATORY ORIENTATION on May, 18th. I actually got 4.0 GPA and 73 on HESI, so my average is 86.5, if I take 50% from GPA and HESI.I hard some one got in this year had 3.4 GPA and 87 HESI (86 average from 50% of HESI and GPA). Honestly, I have no idea how do they do the ranking.

let me know your thoughts please.

When they sent you your letter it showed how many people were ranked? I heard they weren't doing that anymore. You would know you're 168 if you're alternate 8. How did you come up with your average? I had a 3.4 and a 87 on the HESI. That seems odd that you didn't rank higher.

Thanks MsV2U for your response, Yes letter was like that:

# of positions available 160

# of applicants ranked 304

Your(mine) admission rank 168

I do not know how did they do mine. Anyway if you have more information then please let me know.

I think it's only on the rejection letters. Someone posted earlier saying it they didn't get in and what info their letter gave but they didn't respond when I asked how many were ranked. Now we know, 304 :)

Do you think they take students form alternate list. Just curious how do they take. Do they extend the number of seats ?

They do when spots are declined. #s 10 and under usually have a really solid shot. Some people who are accepted choose other programs at MCC (respiratory therapist etc), others might also get accepted to nursing programs at other schools, and some might just have personal issues and opt to apply another year (death in the family, money problems). When the turn down their spot macomb calls #1 on the alternative list. Should that person accept, #2 moves up to#1 and the process repeats itself. The actual number of seats in the program do not change.

Ok wow guys im happy i looked on here because my letter is sitting in my mailbox riteeeee now not sure if im in or not

1.that formula for the composite score DOES NOT WORK so dont count on it ....

2.im almost sure that if you are between alternative 1-10 you willl get a calll but after 15 it gets really skeptical

i cant wait until orientation so that we can see who all will be in our classes (wishful thinking )hoping i get in .... Lol cant wait to meet you allllllllllllll. Give me a hour or two sooon as i get home i will let you guys know if i made the cut or not

I was alternative 22 last yr im almost sure you will get your calll by january with a start date ..... You are the 8th alternative good luck
