Members are discussing their acceptance into a nursing program, sharing their GPA and TEAS scores, asking about program requirements for transfer students and international students, seeking advice on how to do well in prerequisite courses like anatomy and microbiology, and comparing the competitiveness of the nursing program to other healthcare programs like respiratory therapy. They also discuss the transition from TEAS to HESI exams, application deadlines, and the intensity of prerequisite courses.
Hello guys,
Thought I'd start a thread for all those MCC students that applied for the MCC Fall 2025 nursing. I'm anxious and nervous I have a 3.8 GPA but did not do very well on the TEAS.

I would not recommend taking these online.
I had Alia Ferdaous for A&P and while she is a decent person, she is not a good teacher in my opinion. She just buzz reads through slides and teaching isn't her passion- she's just waiting for med school.
Sassanella for patho- he is a brilliant man and provides MANY resources but you'll still have to work very hard. He's a big talker, and gets sidetracked with stories. But they can be helpful as they do *frequently* relate to the material.

I got in without being a CNA, I also know a CNA that didn't get in but was waitlisted, overall your exam and GPA is worth more and you should focus on that, specifically the TEAS(it's what I took) having that exam be high is good as it's 47% in ranking alone with GPA also 47%

Sorry for being so late, Macombs nursing program application deadline is in February every year. If you get accepted there are 4 possible start dates, august, october, January and march.
HESI is new at macomb, they post on there selective admissions page a link to the nursing packet<- this is your guide to getting in, it was the ATI-TEAS before and it covered anatomy, basic math, basic english, basic grammar and basic chemistry. So I'm assuming somewhere along those lines.
