Macomb Community College Nursing Program - 2025

Published

Hello guys,

Thought I'd start a thread for all those MCC students that applied for the MCC Fall 2025 nursing.  I'm anxious and nervous I have a 3.8 GPA but did not do very well on the TEAS.

Hey, can anybody tell me what the requirements are for transfer students? & I am an International student trying to apply. I don't really know much about the TEAS exam. Is it similar to HESI?

The requirements are the same for everyone. Classes needed to apply are as follows

Intro to nursing

English

A&P 1 and 2 are combined into one class.

Microbiology

This year was the last year for the TEAS and they are now back to requiring the HESI.

I hope that this helps.

Hi guys, I am planning on applying to 2026 nursing program. I still have to take anatomy and Microbiology in the fall semester and I am taking intro to nursing prof this Spring/Summer. Any advice and tips to do well? Thank u

To anyone who didn't get in, Macomb is starting a LPN program this year in August. Same pre-reqs as Nursing and you will graduate August 2026. They haven't set up a LPN to RN bridge yet but they will in the future. Deadline to apply is June 2nd. Congrats to all who got in! I didn't, but I got into Respiratory Therapy.

How many people are selected for respiratory therapy?

Only 40, I believe they said they only had 32 that got selected and I technically was an alternate for them. I'm honestly excited because I was gonna apply to them anyways but decided to just take my chances with nursing. Nursing had over 400 applicants this year and they only accept 160 each year.

Can you apply to more than one program at the same time?

Also as far as advice for the Nursing program, do as best as you can! Strive for straight A's and study in advance for HESI( they just switched from the TEAS this year). The intro to nursing is only 8 weeks and goes by fast so be prepared! That's also how most classes are set up in Nursing school fyi. I would also suggest a back up plan, either another program or another school. It's SO competitive and with them only doing one admission cycle a year, you will literally waste YEARS, if nursing is your only option. But you may get accepted on your 1st try but majority doesn't.

Yes, you can apply to multiple programs. You just have to make a decision if you get accepted into more than one. Respiratory had less prerequisites than Nursing but it's 5 semester long. And with nursing, you have 7 prerequisites but they only count 4 towards your application

*RT had less but also the same prerequisites as Nursing, so I didn't have to take additional prerequisites

Do u think it's easier to get into respiratory than nursing

Yes, because not too many people apply because EVERYONE wants to be a Nurse. For me, it's a win-win situation. Less applicants, so better chance of getting in and they start off a few $$ less than nursing, with less stress. I became a CNA for the extra credit and I'm burnt out after 5 months! I honestly feel like this was meant to be

How did u do in anatomy

B+, 89.68. so close to an A- but I took it during the Summer along with Pathogenic Micro 🫠( which I wouldn't recommend unless you KNOW you can handle it). Also, had a death in the family so I missed a few days.
