They also discuss the transition from TEAS to HESI exams, application deadlines, and the intensity of prerequisite courses.

Hello guys,

Thought I'd start a thread for all those MCC students that applied for the MCC Fall 2025 nursing.  I'm anxious and nervous I have a 3.8 GPA but did not do very well on the TEAS.

Regardless, try to do as best as possible in all prerequisites. They will only choose the best of the best! The only classes that are ranked for the program is English, A&P, Micro and Intro to Nursing so try to do the best with those 4.

I was gonna take it in the Summer but that would've been too hard. How did u do in pathogenic micro

sorry if I am asking too many questions

How did u do on pathogenic Microbiology

sorry if I am asking too many questions and Sorry for your loss

Pathogenic Micro was my worst class and the stressed me out the most!! and I had to retake it! I got a C+, which almost made me not apply this year but expect for my B+ in A&P, I got all A's. Pathogenic lecture plus lab is a lot  and thank you

But for me to take them together during a Summer semester, along with personal matters, I was satisfied with my grades. Well atleast at that time

When is the deadline for Fall term this year?

Is it too late to apply for the nursing program?

& what sections does HESI cover at Macomb? I am currently doing my last prerequisite at WCCCD!

I wanted to make sure that you all knew for those applying next year that there are two additional classes needed before you can start the program.  I was not told any of this by the advisor at MCC, so imagine my shock at orientation.

Hi guys, I am planning on applying to 2026 nursing program. I still have to take anatomy and Microbiology in the fall semester and I am taking intro to nursing prof this Spring/Summer. Any advice and tips to do well? Thank u

If you're going to take Micro and A&P at the same time be prepared to put your 110% into studying. These classes are so intensive, the lecture exams are ruthless. Study like your life depended on it. I took these classes separately. I got an A in A&P and B+ in Microbiology. I would have gotten an A but I took the class in 8 weeks over the Summer. I got accepted into the Nursing program for this fall.

Did u get accepted on your first try and good luck. Wish u all the best

GPA 3.6 or 3.7 not really sure and TEAS 87% (though they will be accepting the HESI again next year). I can tell you that the program is very competitive so try your hardest to get the best grades possible.

I got an A in English

A in A&P

B+ in Micro and a B- in Intro to nursing (my first class I took and I didn't take it serious).

I took English, A&P and Micro all in the fall 😵💫  It is possible but it is VERY hard, but I knew that I wanted to apply this year so I was straight in focus mode. I am a wife and mother of 3 so if I can do it, I feel any one can LOL

I was accepted and I can tell you that while it's hard work, I think it's really a crash course in what the nursing program will be.

Good luck to you all 😊

Any word about start date or has anyone gotten an email yet?

Hey guys, I know that I need to take A&P and microbio but I don't know what professors are good. I'm taking A&P online also, do you guys have any teacher recommendations or study tips?

Hi yes, do not take it online! Especially if it's an 8 week, 16 week only and don't have the lecture part online, <<my best tip. Hybrid where lecture in person was what I did, and having that access to my professor and her having study sessions in the library was the best. Gaynor she broke up the exams very well, I passed with an A in her class! If you don't wanna take bio I suggest pathogenic Microbiology with Kelley. Study tips is rewriting notes in note webs and constantly speaking out loud through them. I also used a crap ton of flash cards.
