I'm trying to get into the Macomb Community College Nursing program. I just took the HESI test and scored a 86.5%. I Also have a 4.0 GPA. What are my chances into getting into the program for 2011, since my HESI is still kind of low?
If anyone can relate please comment. Post scores so we can compare! Thanks for your thoughts:)
I took the Hesi in November and scored a 89%. I have an GPA of 3.77 (thanks to Micro) and with luck I will make it into the program. Based on this past years applicants I shouldn't have a problem, but you never know!!! So far the averages on the Hesi are low and the number of people taking it is low, all of this will be the deciding factor! Good luck to all!! :)
The wait is going to be awful, but hopefully it pays off! The class averages do seem really low this year, which I hope will also be a good sign. My main concern is getting in, my second concern is when I'll start. I really hope I don't end up getting in but having to wait unti next winter to start! Does anyone know exatly how many people they're accepting this year? I think it's 160 and 40 people start on each of the 4 start dates. But I could be wrong??
The wait is going to be very hard. The application packet says that ranking takes approximately 3 months from the February 15th application deadline...ahh that will put us at mid-May before we know. Last year the letters were mailed at the end of April, I wonder the packets for last year said 3 months too?
I'm applying with a 4.0 and a 94% on the HESI. My class average was 82. I was told that last year's bottom 5 that got in had an average of 3.58 GPA and 88 on the HESI; but we have to keep in mind that every year is different.
I'm in that HHSC Intro to Nursing class right now, and advise anyone that hasn't taken it yet to look at the questions in the back of the assigned chapters before taking the quizes.

Well, school doesn't come easy to me at all, I just work really, really hard. I make literally hundreds of notecards each semester and re read chapters 2 sometimes 3 times before exams and high light and re-read over and over until I feel comfortable with it. It's time consuming and definitely puts a dent in my social life, I was away at college and actually moved home because the "college" life was effecting my grades. Work hard and you can do it too!
