Macbook vs macbook pro

Published

I have no idea the difference with all the Mac computers. I was looking at a macbook from 2007 and one from 2009 and also a macbook pro can't recall the year (I'm on eBay looking) but I am clueless as to what the differences are. Which is the better option ?

Not that I am anti-Macbook but if you really want one be sure that there is an authorized service center in your area. My son-in-law had a Mac for the very reason of reliability that you mentioned and it was not so reliable. No service center in our medium size market meant that for repairs it needed to be shipped to Minneapolis at his cost.

A lightweight windows based laptop or even tablet with an SD card slot for expandable memory is much more cost effective and portable.

Apple charges a LOT because their platform is designed specifically ONLYfor MAC computers to match its hardware, and you pay a ton for memory /storage.

Under 300 bucks, I would look into getting a Surface 3, but those cost $499. Iknow this may sound bad, but if you have decent credit try Best Buy. Getting acomputer these days less than $300 is just buying a glorified calculator. Iwould give you a laptop that I have hardly used, but something is wrong withit. When it tried to update to Windows 10, it just crashes all the time – you don'tneed that headache.[/COLOR]

I owned a Mac before so my last one was over a $1000 I simply was curious about older ones is all. As for the surface only the ones that are surface pro can have software on them. I spoke to Microsoft to see the difference in all those. I'm just keeping the computer I have.

I have a 2014 Macbook Air and a 2007 iMac. I recently went through the process of updating the iMac to the newest operating system, which included having to install additional memory, and it was a huge hassle. I would like to say though now that I've done that, it runs great. I love Apple. If you can afford to buy one (new/used/refurbed) I would definitely suggest it. If you decide to buy older though, find out if it is able to upgrade to the latest operating system. Best of luck to you!

Would mid 2012 be new enough, opinions?
