I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are in school to be a medical assistant, you won't be working as an RN. You have to go to nursing school. Perhaps you could clarify. Are you asking what to expect on your first day as a medical assistant? Or are you asking how to go about becoming a nurse?

I have been a medical assistant for 8 years and I'm completing pre reqs now to apply to nursing school. Have you completed your externship yet? That will definitely give you a good idea of how things will go. Hopefully you have a great nurse or experienced MA to guide you. Ask questions and do everything you can to get "real life" experience. Your first injection on a real patient is totally different than practicing on your class mates or a fake arm!! Good Luck!!
