LW Tech Winter 2017

Published

Hey everyone,

I am reapplying to Lake Wa for winter quarter I did not get in for Fall. Was wondering how people are liking the program that are in it already?

I scored about 72 points total so I am retaking my Teas and redoing my essay for hopefully more points. Also nervous about the amount of people applying since Fall had over 120 applicants. I also heard that tuition is higher now but still would like to go here. If anyone could give me info on how they are liking the program so far that would be great.

Thank you

Was the nursing advisor from LWTech or another college?

The nursing advisor was from LWTECH. Being personal is good too, I just made it too personal and didn't describe what I learned in enough detail and how I would apply it in the program.

I'm sure you'll get in, mid-90s is super good! This is my second time applying. I retook Stats and rewrote my essay so hopefully I have a shot. Otherwise I'll just have to retake my TEAS in June and apply for Fall.

Okay! I had a few people review it, and got useful feedback so hopefully it's fine. That's only if I do really well on the essay! I'm just banking on getting in the 80s if anything. I hope that you are able to get in. Will you be applying to any other nursing schools for the fall?

If I don't get in I'll be applying everywhere including in eastern Washington since rent is not as high as the west side.

Yes, if I don't get in I'm going to branch out to other schools. It's more difficult because every school seems to have different requirements. Do your work as a cna?

Yeah, I agree a lot of the ones around here in Seattle have added classes. Most of the ones I'm applying to have similar requirements of LW Tech. I am! I've been a CNA since August. I work at a hospital in Seattle! What about you?

Hey everyone!

I've also applied to LWTech Spring 2018 cohort. Unfortunately, I didn't get in Winter 2018 cohort; my GPA was 3.52, TEAS score 72%, essay score 22.25, and 2 out of 5 for prior education. I was recommended to retake my TEAS but I also took it twice within a year and can't retake until the end of March. Rather, I retook a pre-req and now my GPA is 3.74. I'm hoping that will help bump up my overall score. If not, I'll definitely have to retake the TEAS early Spring.

Wishing everyone best of luck :)

That's great! That's a good increase in your GPA. Have you used the TEAS study manual? It really helped me. I studied with it for a little over a month and got an 88. The first time I took it a few years ago, I got a 74. But during the last few years I got my bachelors degree and took lots of science classes as well. The TEAS guide was great!! If you do end up needing to retake it I definitely recommend. And then I also bought the online practice tests as well as the mometrix guide for their tests as well. It costed me like $250 to study for the exam, but it was very worth it!!

Hey there! Yes, I purchased the TEAS study guide as well as the practice tests. I also have the Mometrix guide and purchased the Kaplan practice tests. Definitely expensive but the more practice, the better :)

Well, hopefully you get in!! If you don't, I hope you are able to get your score up. I was so nervous to take mine! I wish you the best!!

Thank you and good to luck to you as well :) I'm sure you will get in!
