Licensed texas lvn can I work as med aide? Would I still get paid as lvn? Im new to ltc and man the paperwork and responsibilities are overwhelming. Aside from passing meds I worry about their conditions and then my cna's if they are doing their job then do admissions, incident reports, orders orders orders, then here comes the family members then need to make calls to doctors, get return calls from them, call pharmacy etc. I'm on my 4th day and already doubting this. I want to be med aide until I get the hang of it.

I seriously doubt the facility would pay you as an LVN if you are only functioning as a medication aide. There's a huge difference in pay between the two roles in addition to the huge difference in responsibilities.
All the medication aide does in Texas is pass pills and administer eye drops. No assessments. No wound care. No charting. No dealing with families or visitors. No judgment. Anything requiring assessment or the skill set of a licensed nurse would require you to say, "Let me go find the nurse!"

Unfortunately if you work as a qma you're still held to the higher standards of lpn role.
I wouldn't do it. I'd look for an lpn job with a slower pace and less stress. Maybe assisted living or residential home for special needs adults.
