Hello guys, It's glad to be back here. After my nlcex I had been nonstop looking for job. I live in Orange CA. So anyway, I have a job interview (first ever!) in a Dr. clinic in a few days he or whoever is doing the hiring emailed me and ask for my salary requirements. Well I have no clue to how much should a newly graduate LVN make or demand?
Addition information:
caregiver exp. for about 2 months
CNA for 3 months
CPR bls
IV/Phlebotomy cert
(If these factors makes any difference at all)
To all who have worked and is currently working in this setting, would you please be so kind and give me some info and maybe some tip to how should I talk to a doctor and what quality they usually look for in their staff to be inside their practice?
I'm praying that I would get a job offer my student loan is about to kick-in very very soon
Thank you in advance!

I'm in Texas but as an LVN with 5 yrs experience, I make $20/hr. My first job out of school started at $18/hr. Good luck on your interview!

I currently work for Kaiser which is back office nursing in a clinic as well I make $ 24.16 at kaiser they start LVN with 6 months experience at 19.00, as an MA outside of Kaiser (LVN Grad) I made $ 14.00. I live in Victorville, CA not tooo far from OC.
Since its a primary care physician they usually look for humble down to earth people because you will be dealing with there every day patients on a daily basis. Back office is pretty routine every once in a while you get a "panic day" but no too much. I would be knowledgeable on EKG's, immunizations for adults/peds, Holter Monitors, Lab values, patient courtesy, sterile techniques, I &D's, oh the one thing that was new for me was setting up for Pap Smears. =)
its all a learning process it may be different in every doctors office but i hope this helps!
I hope your interview went well!!

I know of an LVN who moved to Orange County for her husband's job. She had been earning $20 at a hospital in central Texas, but now she only earns $15 working at a doctor's office in Orange County.

I would say that $20.00 is a good place to start. They may try to lowball you so you'll have to set your own bottom line. I believe that ANY licensed position warrants at least $18.00.
